USB-A is also USB.

Alcantra is vegan leather
not all vegan leathers are alcantra

And herein we learn about encapsulating definitions. Perhaps we need Venn diagrams.

-Crissa
Hmm
Possibly, however, alcantara simulates suede leather.
The white does not have a suede texture. It is smooth, like the rest of the upholstery.
On the dual motor there is black suede like alcantara on the “headliner”, pillars and visors. My understanding that there is additional alcantara on the dash of the beast.
Although I’m very happy with the material on the dash (on the dual motor)

The point about pairing the key cards is good. You can pair a card if you have an already paired card. You can pair a card from a paired phone as well
You can also use your phone to tap the B pillar just like the keycard to unlock/lock any tesla. This works with Android phones and has since I got my first tesla in 2018 as long as NFC is enabled on your phone....I have never tried this with an iphone.

I'll bet most people don't know this one (y)

Correct. I was very confused what OP said unless they changed something mid production, but there is no way the white is suede, vegan or otherwise. It doesn't have any nap.

Thank you, just wanted to point it out so nobody gets a false impression here.
If that were the case, it would be awful.
I love the white, even though I wasn’t a big fan of it before I got it.
Had the tactical grade been available, I would’ve chosen it. But now I would’ve regretted that.
For the most part it’s in the areas that you don’t tend to touch, but is easily cleaned.
If it had a suede texture, it would be a nightmare.

I’m blind- yep. Found it.
Glad you found it but we do need a reliable cable management system for the usb-c cables being run from the rear console, million dollar idea right there

Can you elaborate what you mean by this one?
Sure, when you purchase the CT, you will be provided to black key cards. My two cards came in a cardboard box located in the bed of the truck. Those key cards are inactive and you will need to follow the prompts with the instructions provided and pair each card to the truck.

it is a simple and quick process, but if you forget to do so, then you are relying only on your phone / Bluetooth for access to the vehicle.

These key cards resemble a credit card or a hotel door lock key card. When you finally activate them, you will have two additional ways to gain access your vehicle.

if I have forgotten any details in this description, anyone can jump in and correct me.

I got a quote for just such a cable management system that you describe from the Tesla approved local service center.
Since the quote had a comma in the overall price, I just decided to use a couple pieces of bubble gum to hold the cables in place under the seat.

there are true engineers reading this, so I do need to explain that this is humor. Dad jokes.

The Carbon Fiber like material is just injection molded plastic for what it is worth.

yeah, and also, the plastic isn't that hard. it's not as soft as the first run of the model 3, where wiping the dash with a microfiber would scratch or discolor it, but I try to avoid wiping it in general in the CT because it seems less forgiving than the vegan leather.

...less forgiving than the vegan leather.
There is no such thing as vegan leather. It's vinyl/plastic/pleather/imitation leather.
Vegan leather, like cow, goat, or kangaroo leather, is made from real vegans and is illegal in the US.

Even after years of reading this forum, here are some things that I still did not know as a new EV & CT owner.

The truck does not have a USB charger in front seat. It has one outlet plug in the console and also on the back of the console. It also has two type C chargers on the back of the console.

The white color on the dashboard and the doors is actually a suede type material. For years I was under the impression that it was stainless & wrapped white.

The phone holder dock is not the best place to put your iPhone. I knew that the phone would overheat, but I guess I had to learn from myself.

The A pillar does not block as much of the view as the internet would lead you to believe.

It’s true, very true & very unsafe that people will run you off the road trying to look at your truck or even what’s on your screen.

There is a thin horizontal cab light located above the console, in the headliner - it has touch sensors to turn on at night - not actual buttons.

I did not know that I would be using a swiffer jet mop to clean the inside of my truck windshield. Long handle comes in handy.

My defensive driving & spatial awareness is at an all-time high, because people will drift uncomfortably close to your car and very high speeds just to take a picture

At night:
The high beams are auto dimming.
Almost as if they roll down and roll back up. This is probably an existing Tesla standard, but since this was my first EV, I was still unaware. Pleasantly surprised.
Move the visors to the sides for great windshield views ahead.

Other peoples fingerprints, really bother me. I thought that I could deal with this but now I’m seeing a therapist. (Not really) - I am really thinking about making a sign for the dashboard that says pictures OK but don’t touch.

I have opened my tonneau cover 10 times more than I needed to just for show and tell.

The drivers steering Squircle has buttons & also images that are not buttons.

When in active cruise control and driving around a two lane curve, The truck sensors may slow you down abruptly because of oncoming vehicles and scare your britches off.

Finally, activate those two black key cards that come with your CT for additional access in the doors.

So, if you are still waiting for your delivery, and did not know these little tid bits, I’m glad I could help. ✔
I'd add something to this list that was a genuine, and pleasant, surprise to me....the red blind spot warning lights in the speaker grille of the front door columns! I'm still a little old school and use the side mirrors for lane changes (haven't fully re-mapped my brain to look at the blind spot camera feed on the screen), so this is a nice feature that my old model S did not have.

Good one. That is a nice safety feature.
have you seen the blinking red tractor trailer on your screen as you take a left turn - two turning lanes side by side?
