I'm taking delivery soon and getting quotes for tints on the doors, roof, and windshield but ran into some older posts about ceramic tint potentially causing some cracking due to the way it reflects heat back on the second pane of glass.

I wanted to bump the topic a bit as more CT's are in the wild and I'm curious how common this is still? Also, noticed some people are just flat out skipping one or both windshield/roof. Was just going to get 70% on them for the heat protection alone.

I have it all tinted , from my research I found out or read allot that the best tint is the 3M for those areas. I can’t remember why. I think it had to do with the tech in it .
you will get your people who stick to the rules and say your warranty won’t be good. But what ever if it cracks peel it off then take it in and don’t mention it was tinted ?. My tint guy who’s done multiple of my teslas. And wrapped my CT said allot of people don’t realize they already had a problem. I possibly would worry in a climate like Arizona where it’s 110 everyday and expansion and contraction of the glass but even then what ever. Both my M3’s been tinted windshield and roof. Damn Palm Springs Pd gave me a windshield tint ticket a few weeks ago when I was there so there goes another $500 to peel it and put it back on I did 70% on the windshield. I believe 30% everywhere ells to match front and back
For me I feel like the heat is night and day with it tinted so much better
