Tonneau Cover Horizontal gasket fail

I’ve only opened and closed the tonneau cover a handful of times but I just notices of the gaskets between the lovers has failed.

Anyone else seen this?

Saw someone else post that once before because the instructions/service info on how to repair with a crazy machine is very complicated. Good luck getting that fixed, hopefully SC has that device to work on it. Had to be all removed, etc.

I just got this. It's not completely sticking out like yours, but it's protruding and does come in contact with the sheath when retracting.

I had mine in service for this problem today. In typical Tesla fashion I received zero feedback on how it was fixed, but it was in fact fixed. Cost $0.

I just scheduled an appointment for the same thing. How long was the repair? Fix while you wait, or had to leave it? Thanks!

I live in crested butte, so a SC visit is 4 hours away. I would also like to know how long the repair took

Do I need to plan an overnight trip to denver? Did they offer you a loaner if it’s a day long repair?

Yours looks a bit more damaged. Invoice finally showed up on the app stating that they reinstalled same piece. With your drive I would verify they have a new part in stock or maybe order the part your self ( if you don't need it now you probably will in the future). I kept checking the app all day to see status updates but couldn't see the typical open door /open tailgate you would see whilst in service. About 2 pm I finally reached out to ask if it would be done before closing and was told "maybe ". Then the next thing I knew it was done.

I was expecting to see something about torques being checked on the rear subframe as I had heard there was a service bulletin regarding that. Possibly limited to a certain VIN range?

Got mine fixed as well. Asked if I can do something to prevent this happening again. They said it the top trim needed adjustment.

All slats and seals are perfect now. Hopefully it stays that way. Dropped off at 7am was ready by 3pm

Mine is also in service for the exact same issue. I was told a new part is ordered and won't arrive for another week. Oddly, the part they quoted in the estimate is 'SLAT SYSTEM - TONNEAU(1906561-00-D) which I believe to be the entire cover.

On the plus side, really enjoying FSD on a loaner Model X while it's in service.

Mine is probably also a full tonneau replacement it’s sticking out like yours
