If they were going to sell more Silverado's with big batteries than Tesla sells with 123 kWh batteries, only then could you say they are in the lead. Tesla didn't put a bigger battery in for cost and weight reasons, it would ruin many of the best qualities of the truck and require different, less efficient tires, while pushing the price into unsustainable territory.If Chevy can do it with the Silverado I am sure the Tesla team can do it, just surprised that Chevy has the lead in range and towing for an EV, not to mention the 350kw charging
GM is simply demonstrating a party trick with the big battery in the Silverado because they can't sell them at scale for a profit. Not even at break-even. Elon will never let a vehicle enter production that he doesn't think can be sold profitably, that's just how he rolls. GM is living on another planet, trying to pull the wool over people's eyes to make them think they are leading. But it's a show truck, not a real world truck that can be sold in high volumes, it will be manufactured and sold in very low quantities, at a big loss on everyone they make. GM wants to fool you, don't let them.
