@Texarado thanks for sharing this! I am planning to tow my airstream (same 25ft) at next road trip as well. A few things I am not sure yet:
  • How did you solve the tow mirror? Did you install any aftermarket tow mirror? Or are the views from the side cameras sufficient?
  • what trailer brake settings did you use? Is regen still working well when towing? How was the downhill experience?
  • How fast of charging did you get with the 50amp at campground? Did any campground ever charge you for excessive electricity usage?
Tow mirrors unnecessary in my opinion. The airstream already has the rear camera, so I use that. Remember you’ll need to have a cigarette lighter adapter to allow for that to plug in. I think the CT mirrors are much larger than they appear. They fit with the triangular theme of the truck and are deceptively larger than they appear. Not the same as tow mirrors, but plenty fine for my purpose.

I left trailer brake on the default. Didn’t change them. I did use the enhanced regenerative braking setting, though. Downhill was amazing. You’re on the accelerator the whole way. Truly remarkable. Perhaps a little braking on hairpin turns, but very very little.

50amp charging is just the same as at home. Wasn’t fantastic, but 23 mi/hr. That’s to be expected.

I'll add that when towing my boat, which is wider than the truck, I have no problems seeing around it.

You get the same charge on a NEMA 14-50 at a campground as you would at home.

You just can't have the camper and vehicle plugged at the same time.
