What’s happening with the brake light on the tailgate going from full width to just the centre lighting up, is this anything to do with regeneration, don’t own a Tesla (yet) so probably a stupid question.

What’s happening with the brake light on the tailgate going from full width to just the centre lighting up, is this anything to do with regeneration, don’t own a Tesla (yet) so probably a stupid question.

Seems the full width light bar is essentially daytime running lights. (I like it!) And when the brake pedal is applied, it reverts to the brighter 3 light brake light set up. Typically, the middle brake light is higher than the tailights, but in this case they are on the same vertical plain. So, brakes applied, 3 bright lights. No brake pedal, uniform light bar.

There sure are a lot of things going on there. The music helps create a circus atmosphere.

Tesla doesn't turn on the taillights for day time running lights on their current vehicles. Also, after the CT made the turn and was accelerating I didn't see any taillights on.
