I'm in Houston. Taking delivery this Friday. Did you get a delivery date yet?
Congratulations!! No delivery date yet, hoping soon. Waiting for a delivery date is far worse than waiting for a vin!

Got my VIN today and called tesla to ask what the next steps are. Tesla told me that there’s nothing I need to do now but just wait till I get a call from tesla to schedule delivery (said it could be a couple weeks). I asked about the insurance and they said to wait till the delivery is scheduled to get insurance. Has this been the process for the rest of y’all?

This was not my experience. Once I received the VIN and accepted the “vehicle changes” in the app, I was able to start completing the remaining pre-delivery steps. That said, I would just follow what the Tesla rep tells you.

UPDATE:
Tesla Cybertruck VIN ASSIGNED TODAY 2/25/24; ORDER DATE 12/12/23; DELIVERY 03/01/24 Cybertruck

Received Cybertruck on 3/1. No issues with Cybertruck. Fit and finish are great.

Overall impression: How is it possible to manufacture this engineering marvel for the price? This gets lost by most reviewers. It is just so good in every way. Much better than my model 3 performance (which I love). All of the tech is so much smoother than my prior Teslas, which far surpass every other car on the road. The nitpicking by Youtubers for clicks is overdone and are prime examples of missing the forest for the trees. This thing is a true marvel for the price (even at the FS prices). If you are not ok with sharing with others or not good with attention, then this may not be the vehicle for you. On the other hand, if you are ok with bringing smiles to others (and yourself) and don't mind the extra time it takes when going to a local store (or anywhere in public), then you will be right at home with this truck.

The good:

This truck far exceeds my expectations. A head turner for sure. I tinted my front windows right away due to excessive staring by other drivers. I don't mind the attention on the truck but I did not want to be in everyone's instagram feed. The steering is incredible. Steer by wire just makes sense and makes a very large truck turn like a smaller car.

The Cybertruck fits perfect in the garage next to our Model X. The suspension is amazing. One of my favorite features is the entry mode since I am a shorter guy. :) The truck is very comfortable, but not as comfortable as our 2016 model x, though I think it is more comfortable than the new MX. (The seats in our 2016 MX are better than the seats in the new MX IMO). The power outlets in the truck are conveniently located throughout. And the screen in the rear is a great feature that all Teslas are now getting.

The bad:

The taking ownership and trading in of my car was very simple. However, the Tesla delivery center did a terrible job prepping the vehicle for delivery. It just left a bitter taste on the delivery. I spent three hours the day after deliver cleaning the truck. While I am glad I spent the time to do so, I expected better. At the end of the day, I was able to take delivery, so I cannot be too upset about that. ?

I really don't like not being able to have HomeLink in a Tesla. I know this affects other Teslas too since the move to MYQ app (or whatever it is -- I will figure this out later). But I do miss the simplicity of MyLInk.

I also really miss the advanced autopilot that I had with my M3P. I hope at least this (if not FSD) comes very very soon.

The ugly:

Fingerprints. Like others, I recommend barkeeper's friend. Follow the instructions. A very light coat and then rinse off with water and dry. I removed the barkeepers coat with a wet rag and then used a clean towel to dry and wipe clean. That seemed to work best for me. If you are just wanting a quick finger print remover, maybe stainless steel wipes to lightly rub over the finger prints and remove the residue from the wipe with windex. That seems to work ok though I am not sure that is the best approach just yet.

My reservation number was 11275xxxx. My vin is in the mid 2000's.

Congrats!! Which service center in Texas did you take delivery at? I am waiting for mine to arrive at the DFW Plano site.
