Ordered 10/22/24 VIN 10/29/24; no delivery date

Hi all. I ordered my dual motor non-foundation CT on 10/15. Today is 10/30 and I’m still waiting for a Vin# to be assigned. Also, the $1,000 discount credit was not available for CT when I ordered. It has now been available for about 3-4 days and I’ve been thinking about it a lot. However, some claim this $1,000 has been reduced to $500 now. I don’t even think it’s worth it anymore. What do you guys suggest/recommend? Anybody?

The reduction was only for the 3/Y. S/X/CT is still $1000. There were some posts saying folks managed to get it added by going in-person to a Tesla Sales Center and talking to someone. Other posts said they weren't willing to do it. I didn't want to deal with that so I cancelled/re-placed my order... Good luck.

Order date was 10/22. This is all crazy to me because of the delays others are facing. I think some people ordered 10/11 still don’t have a VIN :/

Hey! Yea its weird! I contacted Tesla today via messaging on the app and inquired if I agreed to drive to another zip code, would that expedite VIN assignment. The response was as soon as a CT is finished in production, VIN assignments are placed; hence they said there aren‘t any CTs not assigned.

I asked if it was a possibility that deliveries could be past the advertised Oct-November dates and response was “very likely.“ Recommended not to even secure financing until a VIN# is assigned.

Wish I knew that before I started the financing process. Oh well, I’m committed now lol

Hey I'm in the same boat (ordered 10/20 still no VIN) the credit is still 1k for CT. The one thing that scares me from doing this is I got a good financing rate (5.19%) so I'm afraid if I cancel and reorder even if its slightly higher that negates any savings. Overall its like 16/month difference in my 48 month loan if nothing changes with that. Rn I'm gonna hold BUT if they make it tax credit eligible at anytime before I get the truck then I will def cancel and reorder cuz thats closer to 8k. I'd hate to lose 2 order fees if they added that right after.

Hi. I’m okay on that end. I’m ordering mine through my company. Therefore, as long as the price doesn’t go past $80k I should be about to claim the $7,500 on my taxes. It’s not an immediate discount but I’ll take it. If you have a company, and you purchase it via the company, you can claim the $7,500 credit on your taxes. Just purchase the one that costs $79,990. Otherwise, you will not qualify for it. I actually wanted to buy the one with the Cyber wheels but it first lost $80k and I dropped it after I noticed that. Hopefully, I’ll be able to find the cyber wheels on discount somewhere around after I get my CT.

No VIN still and I'm about 5 hours north of the giga factory. I also ordered in 2019. So I was under the impression there were tons in inventory due to a small take rate. But maybe not if it hasn't been assigned yet.

I just received the Vin# to my CT at 6:10pm today. Let’s see how long before I can take delivery of it. I believe once they send the Vin# the vehicle has been already manufactured and ready to ship. If that’s the case, transit time from TX to NJ is approximately 3 days. If they ship it within the next 7 days, it should get to jersey in approximately 10 days from today. My wild guess is that I can probably pick it up somewhere around 11/10. Hopefully, my calculations are okay and it doesn’t get delisted much longer than that. The Vin# is 047…
