Wheel cover rattle

Got about 20K miles on my truck, and 3 out of 4 covers are rattling due to significant amount of play that developed with mileage. Asked the Tesla service center and they said that's normal... what are people's experiences ?

take them of and throw them away. i had my wheels replaced under warranty because of damage from the covers.

Your covers are broken. Remove them and the round center piece is likely broken. Tesla replaced all four of my wheels due to damage from the covers. Get new wheels and put the lug nut covers on. It looks way better than the aero ones.

Broken tabs that hold the center ring. Bring them to a SC, and they should replace them under warranty. I've had 5 replaced so far.

That's interesting... I was at the service center today and they said that's normal. The truck is still there for the recall work, so will be interesting to see if they'll replace the covers - doing tire rotation too...

It's technically not under warranty, but I had 2 replaced first and then 3 others about a year later. Both times I told them that its embarassing to drive the truck with that horrible rattle sound and that I would have removed them a long time ago, but the wheel covers scratched my wheels pretty bad, and now I'm stuck with scratched wheels or keeping the broken wheel covers. Both times they replaced under warranty and agreed that the wheel covers suck.
