The trucking companies want this bad. driver less trucks, safer, no breaks, no pay, no overtime, cheaper insurance, cheaper gas(take the human factor out for "Need to go 5 miles faster, to get extra miles for the day"). No truck trying to pass another truck(we call them turtle races). But there are lobbyist and unions that will do everything to prevent this.
Ever seen the lockout procedure at many loading docks in Europe? Can be quite tedious and lengthy. Yet keeps the drunks and fools from killing each other. Remember most OSHA regs were written in blood.

Agreed that the UI should be able to show the side-repeater camera without hiding the rear view, but you can disable the feature completely and leave the rear view in place always:

Automatic Blind Spot Camera
You can enable or disable the Automatic Blind Spot Camera by touching Controls > Display on the vehicle touchscreen and then touching Automatic Blind Spot Camera.
This is how I roll, and I don't miss the side-cam views at all. Of course, FSD is doing most of the driving hahahaha
Problem Solved
Thank You
I would have expected this to be in “Safety “ instead of “Display”

I turned off the side repeater function and opted for always seeing the rear view, mostly because I can see in the UI graphic who’s around me AND I’m usually NOT driving anyway! 🙋🏻‍♂️😀
Ditto.
I’ve relied upon the rear camera for day to day driving since 2017. I tried the side camera view when it was rolled out but didn’t like it. (As many of you.)
So, I still have the 3 camera view on nearly 90% of the time.

Not sure if someone said this yet, but if you pull up the camera and swipe up, you get full rear view and both side repeaters, no more turn signal pop up. Swipe down for front cam. I always keep the rear up unless I’m checking the map.

Yes and thanks for reminding us
But we like rhe normal driving screen and asking for the stitch for when we’re turning
