Are the OEM A/Ts really that bad in the snow?

I have an extra set of wheels and blizzak tires for my y and they do great in Tahoe. Wondering if I should considering buying a second set of 18’s for the CT with winters…

Snow is the weak link of the Goodyear ATs, which I generally like a lot on the Cybertruck.

I'm an expert snow driver and I could make almost anything work in the snow, but I don't want to do that. It's less safe, you have to go slower, and you have less margin for error should someone else do something stupid. The ATs are about the same, or maybe slightly worse, in the snow than most all-season radials I've driven. Which is to say they are not absolutely hopeless, but they leave a lot on the table, and I mean a LOT, compared to a dedicated winter tire that cannot be driven in warmer temperatures without trashing them.

Well, I was pretty happy with my Nokian Hakkas for my Model Y which I used to plow snow in Flagstaff while living in Phoenix. So I'd imagine there was no one running snow tires in a hotter place than Phoenix and they held up rather well doing a lot of miles in both places.

Probably getting the Hakka LT3s for the same use case with the CT.

Plan is to run the winters for 4-5 months a year and then once the stock Goodyears wear out, replace them with the best 3 Peak rated AT like the Nokian Outpost or Falken Wildpeak to see how those stack up in the snow. Probably nothing like the winter tires but can at least run them longer to limit the months I really need the winter tires.

OMG this is great info. Zero Winter tires in 285s but a couple good ones in 275s which should work with the OEM rims or aftermarket. Didn't even think to look at 275s.
I'll be plowing snow, so Winter tires are worth it...

I asked TSportline if there are "it" and they eluded to possible other options (possible the 285 size) coming to market soon but didnt say anything more. I am holding out for 285s as I want the extra cushion.
