I noticed some dust on the b pillar driver side where the door button is located but didn’t think much of it. This was probably 4 weeks after delivery since the truck is outside and accumulated some dust/debris. Recently I tried to clean it and noticed it isn’t just dust but it says MPS. I used spray away to try to clean it and I can see the spray bunch up. I tried IPA and thought maybe it was residual oil or something. Same result. Has anyone seen something like this? Does anyone know what this is or how to get rid of it. Once it’s dry there’s nothing they is noticeable to the eye. But if it’s there is dust or if there is morning dew it sticks out like a sore thumb. It’s pretty damn annoying. Is this like a new graffiti thing?

attaching a video of me using IPA

I have less than no idea what you’re talking about without a picture or video

I'm a bit baffled. I'm no material science expert but glass is non porous.. so this must be some type of etching? yet when its wiped clean, you can see nothing at all? what kind of magic is this?

I saw mine the day before delivery and it had something similar. I took a picture that I've since deleted and asked about it (also searched online) but didn't get a good answer. I figured it was a well known marking or indication. It was gone at delivery and I haven't noticed it since.

Seems to be a Hydrophobic vs. Hydrophilic. The “Magic” lies in controlling surface tension on glass with water. The opposite of etching.

Interesting. Is there anything that specifically leaves a hydrophilic residue? Like a marker or a pen? I guess this means there is some residue on the glass then?

Did you try using a UV flashlight on it to see if it's visible in the dark? Almost reminds me of the old school magic markers where you write something and can't see it until you use the other marker over top of it.

Two choices:

1. It's a monogram like your initials on a Lands End dress shirt
2. It's "5dW" upside down. Everybody know what that means!
