I am experiencing the same issue, weak wiper fluid flow that leaves streaks. As the previous poster mentioned I would like to see a redesigned blade that sprays a fan pattern a couple of inches ahead of the blade so the fluid has a chance to wet the windshiled. I would also like the nozzles to spray on the upstroke, that way the fluid is pushed to the edge of the windshield where the force of the air can push it over the top of the windshield. Having it sit on the bottom of the windshield doesn't help much because it eventually starts flowing up the windshield. Sure there will be a dry wipe but in the end I think it would do a better job cleaning the windshield and allowing the fluid to flow off wothout obscuring the view. When Elon said the wiper was going to be a big challenge, I think they missed the mark, and a redesign is in order.

[Edit] I jumped in the beast this morning and ran the washer to clean the cruft off the windshield from a rainy drive last night and much to my surprise the washer dispensed the fluid in a fan shape on the upstroke. I saw several posts about the Smurf goo added from the factory so I tried to siphon as much as I could from the vessel before refilling it. Maybe I ran through enough fluid that the goo from the factory is gone but it seems to work much better now. ?

I just had my service appointment 1/21/25 and this is the 2nd time my windshield wiper blade has been replaced. I spoke to the service tech and he said that the issues have been resolved, so any of you that has a problem, make an appointment to have it replaced.
They told me that too, and I did not get the most recent part. I ordered the latest one, and it’s still smudgy and doesn’t spray well

The two things that can cause streaking are ...

1.) "humped up" blade holder(s) ... the arms that hold the blade on the glass are stuck or sticking and not allowing the blade to follow the slight curve in the range of motion and keep pressure evenly on all 42.5 feet of the wiper blade length.

2.) A small buildup on the business part of the rubber silicone blade and the best way to clean it is to dampen a microfiber rag (small area of the rag, maybe 20%) and gently wipe both edges / sides of the blade itself. The small amount of sticky road film will make is streak as well as any road film on the outside of the glass.

I posted this in another wiper thread: I've been told that Tesla Engineering back at HQ is aware of the wiper issue (specifically, the inabilty to keep the windshield clean from salt slush) and is actively working on creating a fix for it.

Tesla always makes their cars better, whether via software or hardware, so I do expect them to fix it.

I recently found out that when they replace your wiper motor, they need to reinstall the firmware (what we refer to as the software) in order to get the wiper to be work correctly. How do I know? Well, my wiper motor was replaced and the SC didn't reinstall the software.

When I hit the button for a single wipe, it would wipe 10 times lol. And, when I tried to clean the windshield with fluid, it would spray fluid for a few seconds before doing the down wipe. It would spray fluid on the down and up wipe...and it worked a lot better! Not perfect but better. Once my firmware was reinstalled, the wiper went back to normal operation. So, I've seen there is hope!

It functions correctly but there is always an area in the middle of the glass that doesn’t get contact with the blade.
Service center said it’s normal until they change and fix the blade. Is this how everyone else’s wipers operate?

Yes, exactly the same problem
Actually the operation of the wiper is the biggest negative I have experienced owning the Cybertruck.

Hi
Same issue, especially during snow drive yesterday. Misses large patch over most of passenger side and at the top of driver side. I'll have to get service sometime when convenient.
I was going to clean the blade just to see if that helps for now.

It feels like beating a dead horse at this point but this windshield wiper sucks.

With rain trickling down in socal lately the speed of the wiper is not right in auto mode.

With a very light sprinkle the wiper runs constantly so it’s basically just wiping nothing from the windshield and it’s loud. I’m on the latest software, downloaded last night, and you would think this thing would be calibrated well by now.

Anyone else experiencing this? I changed it from Auto to Off and now just turn it on manually with the steering wheel button whenever I need it.

I had a service appointment this past week and one of the items was the terrible wiper performance. They replaced the wiper motor and I believe the wiper arm/blade.

I haven’t driven in the bad salt slush conditions but I will say it’s better than before. Not a lot but just enough that it actually will clear 90% of the driver side salt slush. Jury’s still out because I haven’t driven in the bad stuff yet.

Either way, it still needs to be redesigned.

I repeatedly try to set the CT wipers to the lowest settings (I or II) during light rain. They speed up to higher settings on their own. Any solutions?

Yeah this was my problem with very light rain last week. Mine were on Auto and it was operating super fast. At least a level IV or III. Even level I was fast. All the other cars on the road the wipers would run after a very long time which was understandable for the amount of rain we had.

finally turned them off and pushed the button on the wheel whenever I needed to clear the water.

I had an appointment at the SC for the tonneau cover so I added the wiper to the service ticket. The repair notes were:

checked wiper blade hose, no issues, removed and replaced wiper blade and is now working how it should.

Apparently 'how it should' means leave streakes on the window becuse there is little difference after the fix.
