It depends on what your needs are. The Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent, is not a winter rated tire and I think would not differ a whole lot from the Goodyear DuraTrac.

I need a true winter tire and will go with Blizzaks or maybe Nokian, both excellent, however, will have a significant trade-off in terms of much more tire wear in exchange for much more traction on ice/snow

I've been running Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo tires for several years on my Honda. I think they're great. It's true they're not as grippy in ice as a true winter tire, but they're a good compromise between winter traction, summer A/T performance, less wear, and less resisteance than a true winter tire.

Thank you! That's helpful!
In my research, Dueler A/T Ascent seems to be an upgrade of Revo3. The key difference is now it is snowflake certified which should be enough for me if I just go to ski resorts.

I love my KO2's I've been running on my other truck, Jeep and RV. They don't have 285/65R20, So I need to figure out which size would be acceptable. If I figure it out, I'll update here.

I do appreciate the Bridgestone Dueller A/T Ascent and if I can't find KO2 that fit right (without going silly smaller), I may go with the Ascent.

New tires are like shoes, everyone has their preference. Appreciate everyone keeping it real and just offering up what they are finding!

Bought the Tesla winter tire package - basically paid $1k more than tires alone and now have 4 spares! :). Same weight and revs per mile as the Tesla AT's - so no impact there, but assume more rolling resistance / range hit, bit stiffer ride, and giving up top speed (dont need 130mph in winter, 112mph should suffice  ) and handling!...tire gets good ratings so hopefully was worth the extra $3k.

I wish this package was actually in stock as I would do the same. I gripe a little that the tires on that package aren’t actually winter tires, but I think I’m gonna go Nokian for the CT and try and find some standalone wheel takeoffs.

I have the notification on for them to be in stock since late August and haven’t received anything. Maybe I could call a showroom and see if they have any on hand.

check the site frequently - that's what I did, never received a notification - dont know why.

Also, my local service center had the tires only in stock - $2300 installed, so I just got the full winter package as pricing didnt make sense and I wanted a spare.

I put the Tesla winter tire package on last Friday. The winter tires are surprisingly loud, especially considering they aren't true snow tires. Between the motor whirl and tire noise it is quite loud driving around now. I wish the CT did a better job of keeping the cabin quiet.

Comparatively my M3P has near zero motor noise and my snow tires aren't nearly as loud when I switch from my summer set.

I'm going to setup my decibel meter next time I ride in both to compare the difference. I bet the CT is twice as noisy.

Picked up Tesla Snow Tires at 5 today - limited test - initial impressions
- They look good on the truck, more rugged / off-road - which they should, lol
- More noise than AT's but CT has good noise control - reasonable and not an issue for me at all
- Ride - Running at 51psi...sharp impacts more jarring as sidewall doesnt flex as much as AT's given its extra strength!
- Handle fine, wasn't in beast mode being an idiot but in a series of roundabouts it was pretty good for that type of tire and reasonable speed
-- Mileage test - 50 mi trip to denver, 30*, average 80-85mph as it's 98% freeway
-- AT's used 19% of Battery or approx 470wh/mi
-- RT's used 22% of battery or approx 554wh/mi
-- So 14-15% ish range hit at high speed
-- Not exact as traffic impacts overall average speed +/- and no way to account for
-- Tires we're 48-49 cold - so should have a bit more pressure but it was 5:30am so left as is
-- Bottom line is there is a mileage hit at sustained freeway speed, I would imagine less so at
city speeds given tires weight the same
-- Snow feedback when we actually get some - expect they'll be good all around winter tires here in CO!

Overall, for Dry / Cold Pavement I'm happy - range hit expected - 15% seems about right, noise expected (and better than I thought), Handling / Ride / steering = better than I thought it would be, minor as long as you aren't treating it like a track car. So as long as these things have good snow / off-road performance then more than worth the $3k for me.

I just picked mine up yesterday as well. Definitely can tell a noise difference from the AS tires I had. But that is to be expected. Didnt get to drive much, but looking forward to see your range stats.
