The wiper, traveling by by itself within thirty minutes of leaving on my first road trip WAS unnerving! As seen in the photo, my co pilot even had to look away when this happened. Still, best piece of tech since the microwave!

Hopefully you won't get ton of scratches from that dry wiping. I am still fighting Tesla about it. Car is below 1k mil s and already has lines of scratches from that dry wiping....keep you window clean

WOW, do you have some kind of coating on your windshield? We've got a few thousand miles on ours (since Sept.) and, although we too get those 'wipes' when not requested, don't have any scratches that I can tell (just cleaned the windshield yesterday and would have seen them)...

The rubber/plastic from your wiper shouldn't be able to scratch the glass... If it is, then there may be something stuck to the blade maybe? I would try cleaning the blade (I always do whenever I clean the windshield).

No coating, happened when I was skiing in Canada. We had some crazy weather. Came home and noticed multiple scratches in my field of view. Not sure if it happened from all the salt on the road but still crazy. Supposed to be a hard windshield. My 2020 Y has 40k miles and looks perfect.
Talked to local Tesla they refused to do anything. Reported to Tesla legal will see if I get any answer.
Suck big time. Praying for a small rock...:)

We're not talking about the "FSD Phantom Wipes" are we? My wiper NEVER has wiped without me doing it except on FSD. I have noticed, however, that when I first start driving and hit 30MPH the wiper will do this little "twitch" but it's barely noticeable.
