A few times now my iphone has heated up on the wireless charger to the point where the call drops, it displays the Temp Warning message, and I have to wait until it cools off before I can use it again. A/C is on, temp inside the cab is set for 68, seems to take about 20 mins, and the pad itself doesn't feel especially warm.
Ours does the same thing, I take and put it in the air conditioning vent. It fits perfectly and cools down fast.. My phone is an iPhone 8 plus which doesn’t support wireless charging. I hope I will get my Tesla pie phone soon.

I am still awaiting delivery of my FS CT, but I rented one for a weekend on Turo and also took one from a service center for a demo drive. On both trips, I wirelessly charged both an Android and Apple phone.

The FS CT wireless chargers heat up phones more than they should or need to. I've been wirelessly charging various phone brands for years including but not limited to an HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Google Pixel, and Apple, and I've tried many, many wireless chargers in cars, at home, at my office, etc. None of the the wireless chargers I've ever used with any phone have heated up my phone as much as they FS CT does. I consider it to be borderline unusable on a regular basis-- unless you get a new phone every year and don't care about trashing the battery with heat degradation.

The only time I've ever created as much heat and warmth charging my phone is when using USB-C corded fast charging (aka "rapid charging") with my Google Pixel at a very low SoC (like 20% or under).

This is the part that confuses me. It cooks my wife's SE that doesn't even have wireless charging. Same thing if mine isn't aligned to charge, still gets hot. What is going on with these things?
