I learned from Facebook that someone in New Jersey was in contact with Wrapmate. Wrapmate sold my custom design to them.

I realize I have no legal rights to the wrap and can do nothing. That being said, if you're going to work with Wrapmate, understand that if you come up with something you think will be unique to your Cybertruck and expect it to remain unique - don't.

This is IP from warner bros to begin with. It wasn't "your" design other than "put matrix on the truck".

No argument. But the idea of putting it on a truck and how it ended up looking on the truck is my idea. It took some time and effort to think it up and get it right. That's all.

Did you pay for the usage rights from the original source?

I'm sure that if you wanted it to not be copied, they'd take a few additional dollars from you to do so. But I suspect that they thought that it was a good enough idea to amortize some of the development time across from multiple buyers.

I did not, as I'm not selling or making money on it.

The gripe is purely around creativity. I suppose I'm just wired differently, but if I saw a custom car wrap, I wouldn't replicate it.

I found out when I picked my truck up that 2-3 other customers had see mine and ordered their wraps to be just like mine!!! It was at TSportline, (who are great) but I was kind of miffed at the whole thing. I guess I get credit for being first. I’ll hate “ meeting” myself here on LA streets …….
