Tried Car Pro’s Iron X today and had amazing results. Wanted to try this because I couldn’t find many videos or info online. For reference, I live at 6800 ft in CO and had quite a bit of deposits on the panels from the winter that looked like little rust spots (Mag chloride or whatever from the roads). I have only touch less washed or used ONR and have had it for a year so it was due for a decontamination. I was going to use BKF and windex or citrisurf77 but couldn’t find much on Iron X so here we are:

Application was super easy and the results were awesome.

What I did:

- Quick wash on panels - ONR
- Sprayed iron X on panel (did one at a time)
- Let sit for 3 minutes (instructions say 3-5 but it started to dry after 3 or so) DONT LET IT DRY and be mindful of overspray
- After 3+ min, chem should be dark purple. Wet microfiber or sponge, rub it into panel in circles
- Rinse really well and dry
- avoid doing it in direct sunlight

I did one more quick wash at the very end. Truck has never looked more shiny and clean. Glad I tried this before doing all the work with BKF. I’m sure BKF gives great results but this was super quick and easy.

Looks fantastic. I want to keep the natural look as well. I did a search...which carpro iron x did you use? Paste, snow pro, etc.

FWIW, I used the purple stuff and I wouldn't say it kept the natural look on my truck. I used it on a spot and it definitely made it noticeably lighter. I had it on there less than a minute and saw it was changing color so I washed it off quickly. It's not a bad color, just several shades lighter. I realized that now I would have to do the whole truck if I wanted it to match. I decided to do an experiment and see how long it would take to revert and match, if ever. It's been more than 6 months and it seems unchanged so it may be permanent. IDK. Gonna wait some more because I like the darker shade.

Other than that, I've only used Sprayway foam. I find it takes off any issue I have (so far) and does not change the color but sometimes requires patience and rubbing. I don't have road salt issues, though, so that may be different.

Yeah it definitely brightens it up. I’m sure the patina you’re referring to will return over time. From the videos I’ve seen, BKF is even stronger.

Otherwise I’ve only used ONR/touchless washes and for upkeep, this glass cleaner, which I found to work best of all the glass cleaners I’ve used on my CT. It’s called KOCHCHEMIE Glass cleaner. I haven’t tried spray away but this stuff is pretty solid for the in-between wash touch up’s and fingerprints.

I use citrisurf 77 after my wash with regular soap and it looks like that.

You spray it on after wash and rinse it off.
