How are people removing the rusty looking spots post delivery. I may bring the truck back in to let Tesla deal with it. They said to use citrus 77 plus. I’ve done that 5 times and it’s better but still not good.

also what do people use to prevent swirls and other marks while cleaning?

Don’t get the ‘Moore’ spray kind. It’s an acid. Then neutralize this with windex.

I used the warm water, soapy brush, and high pressure soap at a manual car wash for one of my first cleanings. I haven't seen any rust. There was some sort of coating on it that this wash seemed to remove, probably the machining oil.

Have you tried simple soap and elbow grease?

Barkeepers Friend and Windex. Very, very easy to remove.
Tesla told me not to use barkeepers. I did try and it works but leaves a shinier appearance than the rest of the car. Didn’t want to ruin anything.

It can stain the plastics. So be careful.

And yeah, that's how stainless cleans; it makes it shinier when you clean off the patina. If something is embedded into the patina, that's how you get it off.

But the thing about stainless is... You can always get back to that clean level.

You can't always get back to it with standard paint.

Spot on correct... and don't use windex with ammonia either...

I've not tried the plus version, but Citrus 77 should work. They (makers of Citrus 77) say not to use the plus version because the iron remover that is added to that version is not recommended on the Cybertruck.

okay.. Hear me out. I just used a product called IronX... holy shit! this stuff smells so bad but works so great! Get the biggest bottle. Link (not affiliate) - https://www.amazon.com/Carpro-Iron-Remover-500-Sprayer/dp/B004UM6DLE

It goes on clear and turns purple when it is eating the rust. I just sprayed it on and left it there for about 10 minutes. Washed it off with a hose and it looks like its freshly detailed! (I did nothing else except for drying the truck).

Make sure when you finish drying, take it around the block and wipe the truck down again as the air will push all of the missed water out of the cracks.

Right now, Im working on trying to get a stainless steel cleaner that works like windex but without the ammonia. Maybe a laqour thinner base something. idk yet.

Tried another brand of this. Worked great but left some streaks from where it dripped and partially dried. Any idea how to remove? I tried to re-apply. No luck.

Try lacquer thinner or nail polish remover.
