LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will receive a “fleet” of Tesla Cybertrucks to start patrolling the streets of the valley, the sheriff announced at the State of the Department address.

According to Sheriff Kevin McMahill, the department will be receiving 10 Cybertrucks, which will be made to look like LVMPD patrol and SWAT cars.

The sheriff posted what appeared to be renderings of what the trucks could look like on his X account, writing “These are bada**.”

McMahill said none of the Cybertrucks will come from the department’s budget and were all donated by an unnamed individual.

The donation was made before the New Year’s Day Cybertruck explosion at Trump Tower, police said.

The trucks were announced as part of a speech McMahill gave about new technology coming to the department, including semi-autonomous drones tied to shot-spotting technology

As good as these look, I noticed when I was wrapping my truck, using the stainless steel instead of white looks a little more badass in mu opinion.

I just came back from Vegas and what a magical place it is. Having a fleet of CyberPatrol vehicles fit the Las Vegas's avant-garde image perfectly. I would love to see them patroling the Strip next time I'm there. Maybe pull up next to one for some photos ops ?

LVPD has seen first-hand that you can set a bomb off in a Cybertruck and not do structural damage. ?

They will serve as a great recruiting tool.

I will be visiting in April and look forward to seeing them in person. It will also serve as a durability test bed for the Cybertruck. ICE cop cars sit idling for hours on end and are usually kept running for the entire 8 hour shift. They are not treated gently.

It is just the Gloss Black PPF kit from @TESBROS, before I put the door on. They are amazing. I had a few issues, and they replaced them for free without any questions. Free install videos. Highly recommend. I also got the Foundation and Cerberus Clear Matte stickers, they are pealing and not sticking very well, wouldn't recommend them.

For the Clear Matte Stickers and Foundation, the colored ppf is usually coated. If you reach out to us, we'd be happy to give you a refund for that since it didn't work out. I'll source some new vinyl for the slick-er areas!

Let's think about this. Tesla has hundreds and hundreds of unsold 2024 Cybertruck's currently in inventory.

Was Tesla the secret "anonymous" donor of 10 Cybertruck's to the Las Vegas police department recently?

If all 10 of the VIN's indicate 2024 models (R in the tenth digit) I would venture to say yes. It's one way to get them off the books.
