Hello,

I have been considering replacing my Subaru Outback with a Jeep Wangler 4door, but then the Gladiator came out. Also own a Nissan Leaf for doing in town and commuting trips.

When I saw the Cybertruck, I wanted one very badly, but did a lot of comparisons and this is some of my research, like how the Model Y should be a closer replacement for my Outback than the Cybertruck:

Tesla Cybertruck
  • Stainless Steel Dual Motor AWD $59,400
  • Full Self-Driving ($8,000)
  • Solar Panel bed cover, other accessories (guestimate is around $2,500)
  • Trailer brake controller (guessing standard?)
  • 231.7" L x 82" W x 75" H x 149.9" WB
  • Approach: 35°, Breakover: 24.1° *, Departure: 28°
  • Ground Clearance: 16" (at full suspension)
* Departure Angle was computed using this formula

Jeep Gladiator
  • Hydro Blue Pearl Gladiator Rubicon $58,655
  • Winch Capable Steel Front Bumper
  • 3 piece hard top with liner and trifold tonneau cover with bedliner and cargo rail system
  • Clothe seats, upgraded sound system, all weather matts
  • Trailer Package, remote start, Cold weather group,
  • Active Safety group and Adaptive Cruise control
  • 218″ L x 74″ W x 76″ H x 137.3" WB
  • Approach: 43.6°, Breakover: 20.3°, Departure: 26°
  • Ground Clearance: 11.1" (10" for base model)

Tesla Model Y
  • Deep Blue Metallic Long Range AWD Model Y $60,000
  • 18" Aero Wheels
  • Black, Five seat interior
  • Full Self Driving ($8,000)
  • 187″ L x 76″ W x 64″ H x 113.8" WB
  • Approach: ?°, Breakover: ?°, Departure: ?°
  • Ground Clearance: 6.6"

I have had many jeeps, my experience they ride like crap worse after a lift and large tires. They have no horse power I have put V-8’s in 3 of my jeeps which made it funner for off rode but on the highway they beat you up Rough ride and are noisy. I need more amenities horse power and comfort these days. Oh ya they can’t tow for crap it will have you fish tailing all over the road if it’s a load you have to keep it at an obnoxious low speed or risk jack knifing.

The CyberTruck and the Gladiator wont even be in the same dimension, so just toss that idea. The model Y is cool.. but no doubt the CyberTruck will be a better Value. I say wait for it.

Why not get both?
You making the payments to the loan company and the insurance company for me? or you buying them for with cash?

That is about the only way I could afford both.
