I think this is really cool, and we can sometimes use some lighter happier topics.

I just saw this, and it's apparently been up about a day, so hopefully this isn't a duplicate thread topic already.

The video shows a lot, but it gets really awesome right after 17:00 where the varnish gets put on and it's driven. He even duplicated the extendable tailgate ramp (and the Cyberquad). So we know Vietnam has at least one very sharp Cybertruck enthusiast!

Actaully it's not, because the welds actually suck in a few joints and could've used better technique, fill, and grinding. The A-Pillar interior trim pieces didn't fit an the ends with interior roof trim either. But he wasn't trying to be ultra perfect on parts and pieces less visible, and his workmanship overall is great for the purpose he intended. But it's not fair to compare steel or stainless steel body panels to wood, because the latter is soft and more workable after initial cuts. You can bet there was a lot of part sanding and adjustment to refine the fit being done off camera. Steel in scaled manufacturing is not so forgiving. Prototypes are easy. Manufacturing is hard.

I'm usually one of the first to point out build quality issues, but when I do, it's with examples and offering constructive improvement suggestions when I can. Tesla has had some specific fit and finish issues but there are also a lot of things they have done a great job on very refined as well. Making a general slight to put down Tesla's general build quality might be premature. Now if the first batch of Cybertrucks come out with some consistent glaring issues that could've been corrected, then I might be saying those kinds of things too, but only because I had previously pointed out things in prototypes and gave warnings.

If you're referring to specific issues you've experienced, then you should share those issues as a constructive example or suggestion, instead of making a general negative slight against Tesla which helps exactly no one.

It was actually in jest. Maybe I forgot to write that. Seeing that even though I’ve had issues with my MY I still would pick it over my Durango. To be honest I’ve never seen the big deal about the fit and finish that gets complained about. If I had such an issue I wouldn’t have 2 cybertrucks reserved.
I was more joking about his panel gaps. LOL.

I truly expect them
To have growing pains with the Cybertruck. How much that growing pain is going to cost me that’s a whole different thing.
As for the video. It’s an amazing skill and a lot a patience. Really cool dad also.

Sorry I misunderstood but the post was very brief.

I also expect them to have some growing pains, and that is one of the reasons I myself have pointed out issues I've seen in the prototypes, which hopefully will bring attention to help correct those early or even before main production starts.

I think most of us have good intentions, and I also feel like Tesla needs to take a lot of these issues more seriously early, rather than have them plague production after they start trying to scale. If I see something I'm usually pointing it out specifically so they know exactly what to work on.

I think likely Tesla is likely taking these issues seriously though. Elon had a very serious tone in the last earnings call when discussing the prolonged time it would take to make the Cybertruck 'cash flow positive'. I think possibly (speculating) this is because he is reemphasizing fit and finish quality to the teams and they might've given feedback that certain things may 'slow the ramp' and 'cost more', but Elon still insisted on the improvements anyway. I think some things like that in the short term will be expensive for Tesla, but in the long run the demand, production, deliveries, and popularity of the Cybertruck will be much greater. On the other hand if they were to allow consistent visible quality issues to be replicated in production, then it could be a lackluster over the next two to three years as well as a stain on the Tesla brand. I'm trying to be optimistic for the former and not the latter.
