I think Elon and the CT development team realized that the Cybertruck platform won’t follow Elon’s “Needs to kick butt in Baja” statement.
I think a lot of people might have mis-heard what EM said. "Needs to kick butt in Baja" doesn't use the word "race" or "1000" or "500" anywhere. People have assumed this meant the race, but that ain't what the man said. In fact, he didn't even say "THE Baja". Just like he didn't say there would be a CT announcement BEFORE the end of Q3. He said AROUND...

If you're going to rely on what he says, then listen to what he says without preconceived ideas of what he means.

Some mud splatter to show us clearly the BAW coverage, and more views of the lights - cool.

No need to get on any high horses about terrain, as the Cybertrucks certainly had to park somewhere for the photos. Still shots are going to be just that - still. Any serious off-road terrain navigation would be best discussed with some video footage, preferably taken both in vehicle and externally. The still photos being taken from a particular place doesn't imply any demonstration of off-road terrain capability. They're just out on some rural roads enjoying different scenery, and IMO it makes for some nice photos.

Geez. Is the expectation that it needs to climb Moab, race in Baja, mud bog, do sled pulls at Monster Jam, tow 12 horses, and get 500 miles of range? The only action most of these will see are curb rash and speed bumps at the mall. Y'all need to chill with these
I know, right?

You forgot taking the lap record at the NĂĽrburgring, crossing the Mississippi while trolling for perch, winning a 24-hour internal combustion endurance road race, having a frunk big enough to fit three sheep, hauling a fifth wheel from Nome, AK to Key West in two days, and costing less than the base model F-150 Lightning.

Obviously, the Cybertruck is a real loser!

Elon set the bar
“Kick butt in baja” (and no one thats even reasonable thinks that means racing it. But to kick butt in baja clearly means ultra capable off road)
“Capable of towing near infinite weight”
and 500 miles was on the board at reveal.

I can’t speak to anyone else but I’ve logged thousands of miles off road in my life and we at least have a tentative plan for a CT ride in Moab next year.

Tested in mud being replaced by drives on dirt roads would be a better tagline

You guys are acting like the title of this thread was: "Cybertruck claims title of best off-road mudder and it's not even close!"

It's just some dirty CT pics lol

Australians would have a small request when it comes to 'a frunk big enough to fit three sheep' with the variation being the optional '44 Gallon Drum'

I love you guys and girls but damn….

y’all be real knit pickers about the information out there. I just thought it would be cool to share that they are doing some cool stuff with the truck.

Based on the visuals maybe they were going to capture this pic IRL with the latest builds ?
