I'm with you. I'll probably regret not getting the Cyberbeast. I'm fortunate enough to say that its only 20k more from a dual motor. I can make the stretch. Wish it was cheaper.
But look what you get. You literally only get 0.9 seconds faster 0-60 and 20 mile more top speed. If you aren’t drag racing frequently, how is that worth $20k

have you decided whether it’s better to be slapped in the face by normal guy with three

kids, or by the world’s richest man with 20 kids?

Either way, stay in the fold, man. CT is more compelling in real world than it is on paper. And lots can happen still between now and when your order is up

personally, I think the announcement of the extended plus the preview of the single motor in 2025 (but no other previews), settles that a 500mi/HD truck is unlikely anytime soon.

much as that sucks for a lot of folks, before deciding it’s a fatal flaw, they should take a ride in a CT
I wonder when showrooms will let people in the truck

Relax, people. Of course, with well over a million reservations, Tesla will release THE BEST to those who will pay. You have to wait until the website says, "delivery this month".

The S Plaid was $135k, now $90k. Absolutely not going to give $69k to first day buyers when there are a literal million people waiting to pay more money.

Sure. However, 1) I don’t want a gas hog truck. 2) I don’t care for Rivian or Lightening. 3) I feel I was baited and switched. As a shareholder I am so disappointed.
Whether or not there was a bait and switch the pricing is inline with the competition regardless if you like them or not. At the release event back in 2019 people were not just shocked with the CT as a vehicle but the pricing also especially when you considered how much a Model S or X is. I was also doubting the range with the 500 mile version and as the CT got closer to reality and we saw what the range of the the Lightning and Rivian. there is only so much you can do with present battery tech, when the information got released the 4680 cells had less energy density as 2170 that sealed the deal

Funny how quickly this thread has changed from “many CT refunds” to which model I would buy… lol

1.5 seconds. 2.6 to 4.1

It is huge. I love to destroy 911's while towing my neighbor's broken down 911 to the shop. No, that is HUGE in the performance world when you consider how many decades went into making Porsche Top-of-the-Line, bar none.

I am an AWD reservation holder. I am very disappointed with the price (and range). I knew the CT wouldn't come in at the 2019 advertised prices and was all in if the price came in at $60 - $65K range. I'm keeping my reservation for now in the hopes that the prices come down in the next year or 2. If not, I will request a refund. This was a strong WANT for me, not a NEED.
With the refund, you are within 7-10K. That’s not far off

Just woke up from a nap and didn't do the math. But yes! 1.5 seconds is huge.

It blows my mind mind that people are considering an 80k EV and qualify for the federal tax credit. There is a annual income limit of $300k for married couple. That's so expensive for an income of of equal or below $300k. Or am I missing something?
Kind of. I will be selling my current car for 30k hopefully, and that means I need a loan for 50kish which is about 900/month where I am. A lot, but we are not over the 300k threshold, and this is doable based on our other spending habits…
But, you are right in probably most cases. I just wanted to add another side of things

The actually exceeded the
I completely agree.

Lots of people sadly have taken the price increase personally, or think Tesla is doing them a disservice, whereas for most it won't even matter, because they are so far down the line, being years out, that the price could be anything by then.

Simply, the price ONLY matters the day you have to pay it, just before you get delivery of your Cybertruck. If you have a high number that is still YEARS away.

All the rest is just a premature response without understanding the real decisions being made behind Tesla's closed doors.

I really think Tesla are doing a very poor job of conveying the reasons for the pricing, and purchase retention will reflect some of this, but I also understand that if they did a better job of letting everyone know why, their reasons might not apply any more either.

They don't have any Cybertrucks to sell, so might as well sell the few they have at cost, or a little profit, until production ramps and costs go down.

But people also need to factor in that once these are driving around in numbers, that demand still might go up even further, as more people join the que. At that point only more production will help, so providing they ramp well enough now, replicating that for the second factory will bring it online much faster, just like Shanghai with M3/MY.

So unless you really need that Benjamin, just stay in line until we find out what is really going to happen.
This is why I am so excited for the emotional reaction of cancelling!!! Keep it up people! When my time comes in 1.5-2years (probably), batteries could be better, price and range could be slightly better, early issues figured out… and all those will be kicking themselves for their emotional impatience

I think another piece of news that could help out financially is TSLA’s loan rate. They could offer a lower loan rate % for those with optimal credit….

Of course Tesla is going to release with better specs than TRX and Raptor at below their prices. The $40k single motor whiners? Yes, you are going to wait until 2032 when it will be $48k, then you will still be complaining.
