The way I read it was reservation holders were not included in the survey.

"Canaccord would not disclose the total number of people surveyed, but did note that it included a broad group of respondents who were not among the 2 million Cybertruck reservation holders."

if the poll was not conducted exclusively with reservation holders, then the results are irrelevant.

" Canaccord would not disclose the total number of people surveyed, but did note that it included a broad group of respondents who were not among the 2 million Cybertruck reservation holders. Currently reservation holders must put down a deposit of $250 for the EV pickup. "

the CT production is relevant to the 2M reservation holders only. the rest are just irrelevant witnesses for the next 2-3 years. what a waste of time Canascord. who taught you to poll... :)

So we add that 33% to whatever percentage of reservation holders that will convert to sales.

That would probably make a good poll here.

Reservation holders, if you had the opportunity on 1/1/24 to buy one of the two Cybertruck models that are to be offered in 2024, which would you buy?

*The Beast
*The AWD
*Neither

I skimmed it. I thought it was res holders but it does align with analysts predictions of 20% conversion rate
I don’t understand your logic there, unless your point is simply that the numbers 20 and 23 are within about 14% of each other.

The two pools have no common members and are significantly different, in that every member of the reservation holder pool has specifically indicated a clear prior interest in purchasing an item and (we must assume) that is not the case with the Canaccord’s mystery pool.

Canaccord’s poll has no or at best an extremely weak statistical relevance for the pool of reservation holders.

The title of the thread should be changed to read,

67% of a surveyed group who are not reservation holders say no to CT

Hopefully, admin will make a fix.

Do you believe that conversion rates will be low?

I personally think it might be right in the range of 1 in 5 to 1 in 3 people going thru with the purchase considering the 80k price
I honestly believe the conversion rate will be over 50% and waiting period for AWD and Single motor will remain over 6 months even after 2026-2027

I think the Canaccord poll is absolutely meaningless for the pool of reservation holders and clearly makes no prediction at all of their purchase decisions.

I think that a well constructed poll of the members of this forum might provide some indication of future buying decisions of the reservation holders. It would have to be a non-self selected set of respondents from this group to be unbiased, so the forum's polling function is not useful to obtain statistically meaning results. It would have to include questions that determine whether or not the respondent is a reservation holder, of course.

Tesla certainly knows who their reservation holders are and how to contact them. I wonder if Tesla hasn't already commissioned a poll of them and used an analysis of the responses to help inform their pricing decisions.
