I wonder what would happen if I changed my address to my brothers address in TX, took delivery and then registered it in my home state... hmmmmm
I'm doing this essentially. I live in Idaho, but registering it to my in-laws house in California, and more than likely just going to keep it as a registered California vehicle. I'm not looking forward to everyone in Idaho judging me because they think I'm from California ?

Jumped in the MY this morning and this message was on my display. I wonder if VIN’s are imminent.

I’m not technically savvy, how do I do that?

If you log in and go to your ct order page and then hit control-U (on windows) or command-option-U (on Mac Safari at least)—then you can search within the block of text that comes up for the term “vin”

mine still says vin:””

So this foundation series is why they deleted the "no resale" provision in the contract.

Pretty smart move for Tesla, but it just astounds me that they almost went with the former in the first place. Was that a joke or did they come up with this Founders Addition after the blowback?

Sometimes I think there are some magic mushrooms involved with Tesla upper management.
Thankfully, they didn't delete the "no resale" clauses in the Cybertruck purchase/sale agreement.

And Ford, GM, Ferrari, etc. have all had "no resale" clauses on various high-demand models too. So, be extension, you think magic mushrooms are involved in the upper management of all automakers?

I can’t stop wondering if I had my address in my profile if I would have gotten a email. Crazy how Elon has people (including me) losing there minds to pay $120k for his truck

Going to feel much better when you refinance this summer at lower rate. Fed should pivot next year.
You can hope interest rates drop significantly, but one thing I know is that nobody can predict such things accurately. My point is, I hope no one is taking out a new vehicle loan with the expectation that the high interest rates will be a thing of the past by summer.

on sense is good medicine.
There is a lot of threads on here with discussions about how good torque vectoring is offroad in comparison to lockers.

1) Electric motors have something called "Stall Torque" which is when they are operating at very low RPM, like when climbing, with 1-2RPM. This means they do not produce full torque, or sometimes even enough torque to keep momentum, unlike two wheels joined by a locked diff, where the toque can vary between axles without TC/TV interfering with RPM.
This is false information. If you would just think about the statement you made about an electric motor not producing enough torque at low rpm to maintain momentum you would realize how utterly ridiculous that statement is.

Think about it. If there was not enough torque produced at low RPM to "keep momentum" then it would be impossible for the Cybertruck to even begin moving on a steep hill from a standstill with the single motor RWD Cybertruck distributed through both rear wheels. With maximum torque at zero rpm, the Cybertruck's motor has more than enough torque at zero rpm, more than a tire is capable of transmitting through clean grippy pavement, more than enough to start moving on a steep hill, up to the limits of traction of the tire itself. That's why there is traction control right off the line, to prevent the wheel from spinning up before the vehicle has moved.

They didn't give it the moniker "The Beast" for nothing.

Obviously, it is traction limited, not torque limited. If it were torque limited, a single motor Cybertruck couldn't start from a standstill on a very steep hill, even if it had infinite traction.

Further, it makes no sense to speak of climbing a hill at 1-2 rpm's of the motor. At one mph the motor's rpm is approximately 120 rpm's. At a tenth of a mph, the motor is spinning more than ten times as fast as the 1 rpm you are contemplating! At that speed it would take you a full hour to get up a short, steep section of the route only 528 feet long, and only if you never lost traction, stopped, or took a break for the entire hour.

The Beast will be at least as good at steep, slippery technical climbs (once Tesla has fully optimized the traction control software) because it will essentially lock the rpm's of the two rear motors together synchronously, when that is advantageous.

I really think they won't start scheduling deliveries until January 1. Maybe some of the earliest numbers will get delivery notifications around Christmas or NYE so they can pickup early January, but I think they're not actually delivering any yet. If the CT and Cyberbeast (somehow) qualify for the tax incentive, then they are probably holding off the 2 weeks until January 1 to start doing the tax rebate at point of sale.
