On every truck I've owned, you can simply undo two cables and an electrical connection to be able to finagle the tailgate off. Typically takes me 5 ish minutes to remove. Is this similar to how the Cybertruck tailgate is?
I typically remove the tailgate on my GMC when I'm loaded by a forklift at the local building materials supply. It makes it easier for the 16-year-old forklift operator drop the pallet in place without sliding or dragging it and scratching the hell out of my bed or banging the mast into my tailgate. Not a make-or-break feature, but something I'd like to have.
Edit: Thanks for the replies. I know a removeable tailgate isn't a critical feature. It's far from make or break. If I'm honest, it's something I use maybe 2-3 times per a year. If it's not removeable, I'll figure out a way to load safely with the tailgate attached. At the end of the day, a truck is only as good as the person using it.
