A connection is unlikely. The method and delivery and target are all completely different.

CONFIRMED: The Daily Mail confirms that the Las Vegas Cybertruck terrorist was MATTHEW LIVELSBERGER, and that he previously served at the same military base as the New Orleans terrorist Shamsud Din Jabbar.

For those of us who have our trucks. Please go to your local fire and police station and ask them if they would like to see the truck in person.

My husband and I are friends with a few first responders here and after the events of yesterday we got some requests to bring the truck to our local police and fire stations so they could see it in person.
They would like to review the first responder information provided by Tesla on a real truck.

I desperately hope we never see the events of yesterday again but if we do. Please help those who have to run towards the scene have all the information possible.

Maybe the “gas” pedal caught fire ?
Just one more reason, not to put your CT up on Toro. I’m not sure that the Extra insurance covers acts of terrorism.

100%!!

I have already done this as well and will be going again some evening this month for them to look at it again. There is very little understanding about them and a ton of misconceptions!
In general the information has been very well received. They also like lightshows so make sure you bring a couple good ones ; )

“The explosion in Las Vegas is thought to have killed Livelsberger and injured seven others. Posts made on Facebook suggest he was a Trump supporter and a firework enthusiast, having once likened fireworks shows to the ‘sounds of battle.’”

So he was the confirmed renter but they have not identified the body in the truck yet. All mainstream media info at this point so I'm liberally applying salt... Remember what they just did to us yesterday...

I don't know what his motives were (if him) but if this is the quality of our current SF then god help us they have fallen a long way : (

How is it not... a bomb? I can't believe you just made me look up the definition of "bomb" at 3 am. ?
Some camp fuel canisters and fireworks? This is not the way to generate much explosive power relative to a typical pipe bomb. Ask a bomb tech if you don't believe me.

I am thinking that the POS thought the increased strength of the SS would increase the explosive power of his crude bomb.
BAH!! Sorry, he was wrong. Have fun in HELL, you POS .
A volume as big as the CT allows too much expansion without reaching the pressure levels required to rupture catastrophically. Hence, the fact that the glass didn't even break.

Meanwhile, to increase explosive power, you need a small and strong casing, like a pipe. In particular, you need something capable of containing much higher pressures than a fuel canister before rupturing, or you don't achieve high enough pressure to create a large explosive shock (peak pressure of the shockwave).

This is bomb-making 101. The person who did this either did not understand these things, or just didn't take the time to plan something that would be more destructive. You can call it a bomb, but it wasn't designed like one, and hence wasn't very effective. Good thing, or more people would have been hurt.

both rented an electric truck from turo. Both were on the same base. It seems to me someone gave them directions on how to carry out these attacks and one of them failed. I am thinking that there could be more attacks out there but maybe they were told to stop for now. No proof but it sure as hell looks like a possibility.
Even regular rental car companies are mainly looking at credit check and valid license, not doing a full background check. Something like Turo, which seems to be the top of a few peer-to-peer car rental apps/companies, might be a little looser or more automated; I've seen search results mentioning completing a rental arrangement in 5 minutes, which is probably quicker than the Hertz website, let alone one of their physical locations. It will get them a vehicle easier maybe, although it's obviously just as traceable; but if they don't plan to survive, that doesn't matter if their intent isn't spotted before they act.

The NO guy may indeed have had some support or sources providing direction and/or radicalization. I'm not so sure the LV guy did, because unless he actually intended a dramatic suicide while doing minimum harm to others, he was incompetent. Either way, there's long been circulating info on how to do bad things, going back at least as far as the Anarchist's Cookbook (1971), and doubtless also more recent (and less likely to blow up prematurely) info online as well. Heck, you can download the info needed to 3D print quite a bit of a firearm, leaving the remaining parts something that aren't controlled and can be bought online - like what was used to assassinate the UnitedHealthCare CEO. Both lone wolves and organized groups could converge on some of the same ideas.

Now, was the LV event inspired by the NO event? Maybe, but I think the timing is too tight for that.

Ft. Bragg (renamed Ft. Liberty I think, if you're doing searches) has been reported connected to both, and perhaps to other problematic people, as well has having had some sexual assault scandals. That has me wondering what else goes on there that those in charge don't know about. Doesn't mean connected individuals or purposes, just that it might be an environment supporting those later going rogue with their skills.

I see connections if any as more likely indirect or cobwebs of context rather than direct linkages or necessarily common purposes, although I can't rule those out based on such limited information as can be found with little more than google and some awareness of prior incidents.

To the FBI agent who is monitoring this thread, it’s very important that I note that I have no affiliation, whatsoever, with @DrPhyzx and I also agree that it’s odd that he/she has so much information about this subject.

I hope you have a very pleasant day, thank you!

Extremely innocently yours,

Two idiots that thought EVs would explode and cause massive damage since they have been told that by media and other people repeating it.
Absolutely! I think that the one in Vegas (irrespective of whether he thought enclosing the materials in the truck bed would create a larger explosion) 100% believed that once he started a fire in the vehicle the battery would catch on and take over.

I have no doubt that he thought, at minimum, that the fire would be intense enough and burn long enough to collapse the porte-cochère.

People in this nation across political spectrums have lost the ability to think critically/separate fact from fiction/know when they’re being misled and it’s going to destroy us!
