My guess is that willingness to convert an FS invitation drops very rapidly as we move further away from the unveiling event in reservation numbers. I would also guess that the willingness to convert any reservation will drop rapidly at the current pricing (50% hifgher than expected). I do not know what the conversion percentages will be, just that they will be much lower than they would have been. Does anyone know what the FS invitation conversion rate has been?
The pattern should be Ford Lightning, where the suckers, like us in CT FS and subsequent early adopters with money to burn, starting to drop quickly. No wave followed as costumers stopped biting on their overpriced trucks starting on the 3rd month, lol.

Ford corporate then started to come to their senses adjusting their price -- and latest, their production goals.

All these CTs that have been spotted leaving Tesla….. The only “deliveries” we have seen are to Tesla employees and a lot of Tesla centers now showing the CT. So that’s where they’re all going. Not ONE regular customer has been confirmed other than maybe some of the first 10 from delivery event.

Administrator, I’m having issues with the update form. Would you update my reservation to an “AWD Dual-Motor” from the “Cyber Beast”? I went in today to and reconfigured to the AWD Dual-Motor. That also updated my projected timeline to January – March 2024. Further, I’m going to get the Range Extender.

So, I’ve been contemplating this for a little bit and decided to go to the Boise Tesla Store and reconfigure my order. They were all extremely helpful, kind/friendly, and not bothered by my indecisiveness. They are a pretty great team. We talked through my thoughts and they easily updated my order once I cemented my decision.

What I came down to is that although my “want” of the Beast version was strong, it was lacking in practicality of my desires (range, which I will explain). I can’t afford to add another 16K for the range extender to the Beast, but I can afford to put it on the AWD Dual-Motor and it still be less money.

I have a few reasons for this thought process but one of the main reasons was I wanted to use my truck as a truck to go disappear in the mountains and have fun (camping/backpacking/hiking/off-road) without it having to sit in my garage while I take a different vehicle. Sometimes I have to swap out my current Tesla because of this. My preferred locations are not comfortably in range of real-world mountain driving range due to lack of charging stations. My highway speeds are also 80mph that connect my locations and obviously that’s too inefficient (freaking physics always getting in the way). I am also one of those that would like to tow my camper reasonably well and whatever I can do to give me a few more miles to be comfortable, is good for me mentally. So, for me (my desires, needs and induvial situation/circumstances) I need more available milage and as built, which may be good enough for others, it isn’t for me. So, the only solution (save waiting even longer) to my desire of having this truck after waiting years (including following the rumors before the 2019 launch) was to sacrifice the sick acceleration and ungodly torque for still very respectable truck numbers.

Yeah I’ll probably cry (like the trade in offer that they gave me for my current Tesla) about it later, but…

630 FS orders out of 45,000? I’m reservation number 43k and got an invitation to order a FS CT. Another point, it has been 23 days since 12/8 and 630 orders (plus orders not recorded on our tally). 630/23 = 27/day or 10k/year. I would say the FS offer has been somewhat underwhelming. Seems like if this is accurate, I shouldn’t have ordered my FS CT. I should have just waited for my turn in the long Que.
Maybe Tesla just needs to cast a wider net, like for example offering the FS to all reservation holders with an RN112xxxx instead of slow rolling the invites. A lot of people on this forum would jump on an FS invite if only we received one

Agree, and don’t forget the “price conditioning” phenomenon too, that’s why late-night infomercials always start with “not $30, not $25 but Only $19.95 if ya order now!” Makes you feel it’s an incredible deal and makes you want to buy.

And it works on our brains just as well going the other way, when ppl got used to Lightning’s intro price and then Ford bumped it by $20K (I think it was) and many of the preorders dropped off. Ford realized this and lessened the bump to only $10K right after, but psychological damage was done. Starting high and dropping when demand falls, like Tesla has done with their other models, seems to work for them and may be proven yet again when Tesla announces their latest deliveries pretty soon.

Then again none of this might matter for the legacies, because as a some analysts have already said, “Tesla didn’t make everybody want EVs, Tesla made everybody want Teslas.” ?

The FS orders listed here might only be 20% of the total orders to date
I think it's more like 1-2%.... there are only 21k+ members here and well over $2M reservations. Very few ppl with orders are entering them here!

I think they only invited the first 50k or 100k, spread out over the US, based on 2024 production estimates. Just my theory. I preordered a second one 5 days after first one and didn’t get second invite, yet.

I'm guessing, but thinking they are battery production limited. There really must be something going on to hold back deliveries that we do not know about. We have members ordering their truck on 12/8 and if everything was normal, you would think these guys would have their truck by now or at least have a VIN/delivery date. We need a thread showing members with VIN/Delivery dates, etc. As it is now, any tiny bit of possible delivery news is blown way out of proportion. Maybe there is a delivery thread, but we don't hear of anyone receiving a CT unless they are an employee or related to one.

With only a couple of oddball exceptions, all invitations have gone to reservations numbered 11274xxx - 11280xxx which represents a pool of 60,000 reservations, not all of which are for Cybertrucks (although most would be since only handful of people would have been ordering other vehicles over the 12 hour period which those reservations represent).

Let's say we looked at the extreme, that all 60,000 of those reservation numbers were for Cybertrucks (they weren't) and that all 60,000 reservations numbered between 11274xxx - 11280xxx had recieved FS invitations already (they haven't). We have over 600 confirmed orders on this tracker, so at least 1% of people who it was offered to have come in here and put it in the tracker.

If only 25% of reservations numbered between 11274xxx - 11280xxx have actually gotten an invitation so far then that bumps it to a 4% take-rate. If 20% of reservations numbered in that block are for vehicles other than Cybertrucks then that bumps us to a 5% take-rate of those who have been invited. And if only 50% of those who have accepted a FS invite have come to this website and entered their info into the tracker then that bumps us to a 10% take-rate which sounds more reasonable to me.

In other words, with this rough math one out of every 10 reservation holders who got invited to buy a FS went ahead with it. If half of the 2 million reservations get cancelled and 10% of the remaining opt for a FS, and if Tesla offers the FS first to every single RN eventually, then that's 100,000 FS orders, enough to keep them busy for a long time

Agreed, and barring any problems, it’s likely the 100k FS are delivered sometime in 2024. But who knows …

I'm quite skeptical that Tesla will be able to deliver 100,000 Cybertrucks in 2024...
