The app said 6.59% before completed all the info and submitted the application. Almost instantly after submitting, I got several "credit check" emails alerting me a bank was hitting my credit report. Within the hour Chase bank called to confirm my income. Since I'm retired, I have income from various sources. My credit rating has been over 800 for a while, so I'm not worried about that, but I don't have a job. I'm glad I proceeded with the loan request. I submitted my order/configuration on 12/31 after getting an email on 12/8. Amazing how quickly that all happened. Now I wait for Tesla to notify me of the loan approval.
6.59% is what they can offer if you jave the ideal buyer profile… that’s what it showed for me until it actually ran all of my info and the actual rate was higher…8.56% to be precise. My credit score is not very good right now but i am putting down $50K so that helps… I’m waiting to get another quote from my local Credit Union.

Got my vin yesterday..80 miles from Fremont..sooo excited.insurance lined up.paying cash..
I’m curious about the VIN coding (if it’s deemed a Class-2b commercial truck).
can you let me know the 6th digit if your VIN? I anticipate it either a “G” or “H”.
I’ve got a couple Res’s (from BC Canada). It’s a bargain for what it is but still a lot of money…on the fence myself.

I don’t think this is true. I’ve waited to go through with financing in the past, which is what we’re again doing for this one.
There have been a number of people who previously indicated that completion was needed.
If you are in an unconstrained period, the concepts may be different. But we are very constrained now and If the VIN assignment folks see one that is "Ready" and one that is "Not Ready" which one do you think that they are going to want to pick. There are hundreds of people ready to pull those vehicles off the lot at an instant.

Your choice. Your risk. Feel free to give me different information and I'll change what people have told me. But what if there's 2% chance that I'm right?

And I have no idea why people even worry about it. Soft hits aren't a big deal, especially when followed up with a confirmation. Are you expecting to buy a house before you get the truck?

So is seems like vin's about 30 days after ordering so far?

How long after vin is assigned would you think CT is on a transporter to service center? Few days, weeks?

Just waiting on that schedule delivery step to be available.

Assuming they do these first wave non employee deliveries on or about the same day it’ll be cool to see a handful of CTs on the lot

Days not weeks. If VIN is assigned it already has a place waiting for transport. A spot on a carrier has been reserved. So once a hauler leaves. It heads to the drop point/SC depending on delivery.

That’s about accurate right now. I ordered on the first day of emails sent out (12/8).

Damn if you’re right, that’s crazy exciting to think that i could be getting a VIN any day now and in a matter of days/weeks i could have my CT delivered!!

This is the way its done. Tesla gets real pissy if you change stuff after VIN assignment. They have to juggle stuff and reshuffle the deck. It happens, but it potentially delays your car and others on the truck. They don't ship half full carriers across the country.

Since you have experience dealing with Tesla and i assume their financing… If i accept the financing offer through the app, am i locked in to that? Or can i switch lenders if i find a better deal?

No you don't have to accept it. You can change to own financing. Most of the online credit unions deal with Tesla on a regular basis.

So Daz, good chance we will be meeting up with both of our CT's sometime in late Feb. I hopefully will receive vin by 2/9 and hopefully delivery end of Feb if all works out.

We need to start a NC or Carolina thread for us to keep in touch and get some meet ups. Maybe some offroad trips or coffee/beer gatherings to shoot the sht
