And if you look at the Energy page in the truck, it has an awesome display of the least 15 minutes utilization and a really accurate range estimation, based on current conditions.Meaning no guesstimated calculations based on driving 70mi @ whatever Wh/mi.
when I drive I depend on my Trip Meter and its history of proven success..
I don't have my Cybertruck yet.trip meter readings or it didn’t happen..
You are right, I missed the payload, difference. And the speed, at least to me, isn't a big deal.Dual Motor doesn't meet top speed claim, price claim or payload claim.
But yea, range it meets on paper. Not exceeds.
Only spots it exceeded was 0-60 and towing
Yep, range was met. But when you consider the other drawbacks and the huge price increases above even inflation, then you start to see where the dud comment comes from. Like I mentioned before. A narwhal is still magical but it's no unicornYou are right, I missed the payload, difference. And the speed, at least to me, isn't a big deal.
BUT IT HAS MET THE RANGE.
Exactly the same way that your Model Y has met it's range.
It is quite easy to get it to go over the 300-mile EPA range.
You have to remember that EVs get LESS range on the highway EPA tests than the city tests, reverse of an ICE.
55 mph should beat 300 miles.
But "meeting the numbers" is not what a highly watched YouTube is.
I believe that someone did some numbers that included inflation, the price increase with inflation was only about $10k. Large yes, but huge, not quite.Yep, range was met. For sure. That's why I said even above the inflation. ?I believe that someone did some numbers that included inflation, the price increase with inflation was only about $10k. Large yes, but huge, not quite.
I watched review, it's not a "lie" but it's not "objective". It's just his opinion. And to be honest, it is partly a lie because he says "what's each car best at?" and he says the CT is best at looking wild when in fact it's best at a lot of things, performance-wise. Objectively speaking, the CT is the best performance road car (handling, acceleration, center of gravity, etc) which is a big use case that would make it top pick for a lot of people (myself included). Taking it further, he also called the Rivian the best "lifestyle" truck but there's not really any objective reason why it's better than the CT for this. Subjectively, it looks a bit like a Land Rover, they market it that way and it's charging network uses green to make you think of the outdoors, but really the CT does everything "lifestyle" that the Rivian does and then some. Same with the F150 being the "work" truck, that's mostly because it "looks" like typical trucks. The CT has a similar full-size bed, towing, payload, range and handy features like power outlets in the bed.You guys have to watch the video and what he means by dud. Nothing he says in that part is a lie.
He also said it will sell a ton and that he likes it. It's a very specific kind of dud lol
I think by performance he meant off-road performance. Likely because of the lack of locker support. But no one is questioning the demand not even him.I watched review, it's not a "lie" but it's not "objective". It's just his opinion. Demand for CT far outpaces the other cars, so yes, it is dominating its segment like every other Tesla, maybe even moreso. It's an amazing product. It's far, far from a "dud" by any measure. His "review" was entirely subjective opinion based mostly on looks and his personal love of his Rivian.
But the video did exactly as he hoped. It got people talking about it and watching the video. Why do you think that they have done so many videos about the truck.I think by performance he meant off-road performance. Likely because of the lack of locker support. Also, he said if he was to pick one and didn't own a rivian he'd pick CT.
But I do see where you're coming from. It's more opinion than objective. But considering only the, did it meet expectations and beat the competition handily like everyone thought it would and Elon hyped it to, aspects. It is dud-adjacent lol
The lifestyle comments, in my opinion come from the fact of larger frunk, gear tunnel, and full size spare under the bed on R1T. I have a 12 gallon water tank and still 60% of frunk room available on 2nd tier. Many have made a kitchen with a slide in the gear tunnel. The full size spare is a most for most offroad expeditions and the reinforced battery shield that isn't an option on Cybertruck is huge for those on any type of rocks. I assume Tesla will do a camping leveling mode as well but we don't know for sure yet. Those are the main reasons I may stick with my R1T.I watched review, it's not a "lie" but it's not "objective". I suspect that with the heavy-duty undercarriage protection that it already on the truck, and the way that Tesla builds its battery, extra protection isn't warranted.and the reinforced battery shield that isn't an option on Cybertruck is huge for those on any type of rocks.
