I bought this to replace my 3 since I want to do more camping with a camper. Definitely feels like a big vehicle inside, I think mainly because of the dash. You tend to forget that the edge of the windshield isn't the front of the car, so need to be careful. The camera on the front is a handy addition. I did a drive from Dublin to Palo Alto last night on the rain and it did wonderfully.
FYI, right now there is no autopilot, FSD or automatic wipers. T looks like it has heated mirrors and wiper blade but I couldn't feel any heat by the wiper blade.
If you are used to a Tesla, the UI will feel pretty normal but many things have changed location. Also coming from a 3 and Y it's screen is noticably bigger. I am getting used to not having a stalk, but I noticed the right turn signal sometimes doesn't press right. Steering wheel is heated but seems like it's more of the sides that are heated but the top and bottom do get some heat. I did also notice there's a blind spot light in the pillar speaker which I tried to show in one of these pictures.
A far as value, assuming the FSD is $7k of the foundation series, I'm not sure there is $13k more value other than getting your truck sooner, which was valuable for me so I'm glad I got it but if you don't want it right away I can see waiting for non foundation series. I wish it came with the tent attachment with foundation (maybe snow chains too), then I think it would have been a good value. It did come with installed weather mats, power share mobile connector in the bed storage, and carpet mats and glass shade in a bag. Also looks like the front license plate mount is a screw on, unlike other Teslas that are a sticker.
Also regarding delivery, I had ordered 12/8 and got my VIN 1/13. After like 2 weeks of no update, I called the main Tesla sales number and they told me my truck was in Dublin but wasn't ready yet to delivery. So I went down there and talked with them and they were able to schedule me. So I'd say if you have had a VIN for awhile you could try to do the same and see if you have luck too. I was also told trucks built between 12/10 and 12/20 don't have wheel covers and to schedule a service appointment in March to give them time to get more made.
Let me know if there's anything you guys want to see.
