After reading this satirical comment (though nicely done), it occurred to me that this person could have eaten up all the media FUD about the trucks "catching fire" and thought he could use it as a massive thermal grenade to burn down the entire tower.

So, did the Cybertruck engineering team just prevent another Oklahoma City bombing from happening?!
I'm pretty sure a full load of ammonium nitrate would have done a much better job of destruction. My feeling is that he just reached the end of his rope and wanted to go out with as a big of attention-getting bang as possible. New Years Day, Trump Hotel, Cybertruck and fireworks. Very sad, but mission accomplished.

Or @REM was right, and he was the victim of the crime and not the perp?
According to Yellowstone suiciding someone is the most popular solution?

The real question is what else is happening that we're missing in the meantime...?

This ^ is not a new phenomena, it just seems like it when it hits close to home. Disinformation via "alternate facts" is common in this instant information age. The more hyperbolic the faster the spread. My response has been to disconnect from my social media accounts and I've stopped watching politically biased programming. Sifting through information for the truth can be difficult when it is in areas where you lack expertise.

It's easy to differentiate BEV-FUD stories for those of us who have followed/owned BEV's for years including the Cybertruck. Unfortunately we are a small percentage of the population. All of us are somewhat susceptible to disinformation if it suites a particular narrative we support.

The old carpenters axiom "measure twice, cut once" seems applicable in a broader sense.
Most seem to live by the antithesis of that axiom:

"I cut it off twice and its still too short..."

Thank goodness the Founding Father’s knew better. What you’re suggesting is about as Un-American as it gets.
your telling me that planning, organizing, assembling and carry out something like this is an American right and liberty? To have a plan that will kill innocent Americans who have done nothing to deserve this is American. that we should not try and prevent this kind of thing because doing so is un-American! explain to me how stopping someone who fits all three criteria is unamerican. you guys quote me and leave out one of these 3 things and that is not what i said. I'm not anti-guns just anti-terrorism and i never said that you get prosecuted or thrown in jail for just triggering a lock down but questioned yes and then a more accurate accusation can be made after.

That's a really old report from this morning
Didn't find it shared here yet, and for those who are waking up on the 3rd already, maybe something they missed while they slept? ;)

My main point was that apparently the renter's ID is established and his "professional skillset", but that has to be tied to the person found in the vehicle yet, beyond some convenient "paper"-work that apparently survived the fire.

A long line of convenient datasets does a good conspiracy make. :geek:

Story time I was with a group of friends a bunch of years ago and we had 4 or 5 off road big trucks and we were on our way camping and we all had many guns and ammunition packed into our trucks. And on our way out to the high desert here in california and were almost there just before going on dirt roads my buddy's truck burst into flames. he had a big ford on 38's with a camper shell and he had most of the ammunition in his truck. well as soon as he saw flames curling up out of the front wheel-wells he pulls over. we all pull over to try and help. so were looking for the fire extinguisher someone else is calling 911 and it spread quickly by the time we get the little extinguisher out the whole front cab was burning. but we never had a chance to put it out anyway it was already too big when he pulled over and jumped out. Then the ammo starts going off and the desert vegetation catches fire now. we all duck for cover behind my truck and can hear the fire department on their way. the ammo that was going off was one box of 9mm he had up in the cab and all the other ammo in the back was not in the fire thanks to the firemen. soon after the firemen showed up ranger's highway patrol show up. and they want to check all of our guns and registrations without hesitation or resistance we cooperate with them, and they start lining up all the guns on one of the patrol cars and by the time they had everything out against the car and on the hood, it was covered from the front bumper to the rear. and they checked every single serial number on every gun until they were satisfied. then they said thank you for cooperating everything looks good no crime has been committed you're all free to go. that's American. when you do things right you got nothing to hide.

You aren't convincing us that AI minority report is a good idea where your car can lock you out if it thinks you're doing something wrong. It csnt even identify a no right on red sign, but you want it to determine motive? It's a dumb idea and in the same anti-freedom vein of "It's ok if the government listens to my calls, I've got nothing to hide".

If you are scared, stay inside.

The wife confirmed the two tattoos on thr burn victim as the ones he had. They are almost positive it's the same person.

I don’t believe that you are native of this country, and (if I’m correct) it shows here. What you are describing is anti-American. It isn’t what we stand for, it’s not what our Constitution requires.

Like every lawyer, I’ve taken an oath to defend and support our Constitution, I take that seriously.

Advocating for preemptive action based on the mere potential for criminal behavior is antithetical to the presumption of innocence—a cornerstone of American jurisprudence, our national character and our basic core values.

Rights cannot be contingent on compliance with speculative or unwarranted investigations; this is precisely why we reject the dystopian concept of “pre-crime.” Our legal system is designed to address actual crimes, not imagined future ones.

What you’re describing would be illegal. What you’re describing would be a horrific thing to do to our free country. It doesn’t make it better to put that corrosive power in the hands of corporate owned AI. FFS! ??‍♂

Nothing you have suggested, can suggest, or might theorize can support the measures that you advocating.

It’s hubris (unwarranted) for you to think that you know better than the folks who set up this little experiment here. Not to mention those who have spilled and shed blood to protect it.

i don't know where you're getting all this anti-American Rhetoric from. all I'm saying is anti-terrorism is not anti-American. and if you're not anti-terrorism please tell me why and how that is an American trait?

You’ll need to find that answer for yourself, friend. But, this ain’t it.
