Seeing people posting on a fb group how they went to a local Tesla store and gave them their rn number and they were able to lookup an order and the future build date. A few people confirmed this on there any body have any experience with this? Or know about this?

January 11th by his example estimate build date is 2 months from order placement basically.

But, they did confirm that "final payment" isn't obligatory when getting VIN, you can go to your event and inspect vehicle before making your payment. She said they are going for a "seamless customer experience", but it's not due upon receiving VIN as many seem to believe.

But, they did confirm that "final payment" isn't obligatory when getting VIN, you can go to your event and inspect vehicle before making your payment. She said they are going for a "seamless customer experience", but it's not due upon receiving VIN as many seem to believe.

This varies state to state though. Tesla sent me this via text on Jan 2nd. I ordered on 12/19.

“ Hello ————! Congratulations on configuring your Cybertruck! While we do not have an estimate on when your vehicle will be built, we are here to guide you through the process in the meantime. As you are waiting to be assigned a VIN, you can complete your pre-delivery tasks to make the process quick and seamless once you are assigned your VIN. Due to Oklahoma regulations your Tesla must be fully funded before it can enter the state and will await final payment at our out-of-state midpoint. If you have any questions or concerns, please reply here. Thank you and have an electric day!”

If you have been assigned a VIN Tesla Employees can bring it up in an app. They can also tell where it is located real time.

I asked mine in person last week and she said "no info"

I went to a service center a few weeks ago and asked about info. He saw the order in the computer, but no info on delivery. He had a sales person call me later that day, who basically said he didn’t have solid info either and definitely did not have any idea on build date, but did suggest delivery should be end of Q1, likely March.
