Any way to use my brother-in-law's reservation?

Has there been any successful reports of using someone else's reservation and getting an actual delivery? My brother-in-law got his email yesterday saying it was time to order. He doesn't want it anymore, and I do. Is there any way for me to use this reservation? Can I change the name on the tesla account he created to mine? He will have to forward any emails to me but I trust him. Anyone done this successfully? Thanks and cheers!

If he puts both of your names in the registration. For financing, if needed, find a lender that will be ok with 2 people on the registration but not on the loan, otherwise he will need to be a cosigner

That's the only way I'm aware of, don't know if there are other options

Honestly go for it. Tesla shouldnt have two sets of rules. You should be able to transfer or sell your reservation at your leisure in a capitalist economy. It is his reservation, he paid for it, if he wants give it to you who cares. Not sure why Tesla cares who wants to give them $100k + and then lets celebrities and YouTubers jump the line. It should be all or none.

You could see if he would do a zero or low interest lease x 12 months and then buy it from him based on a pre-agreed depreciated value at one year.....maybe if your spouse is high maintenance he will have pity on you as well...

if he already has other Tesla vehicle in his account, it might has some issue. If not, technically nothing prevents you from doing so.

No - there is no such "capitalist economy", because everyone's idea what that is - is different. It's about the contractual obligations.

I guess you can jointly take the car, registered in both your names. Then, take his name off (have to check your state rules) ...

If he’s buying cash then it should be pretty easy. He pays cash, you pay him cash, he transfers it to you as a Gift and it’s done.
