What did the app show on the day of the pick-up? Under details should have had the vin. If the vin was still there,and you have a copy of the invoice with vin,your truck cannot be sold to another party. I would contact an attorney.
Yea I was thinking if they accepted payment and assigned a vin, especially payment in full that it would be pretty tough to not say it was "his truck". If they didn't want to sell it to him due to names changing on the reservation that should have been addressed early on and well before VIN assignment or payment was made I would think?

i dont know whats happening here, it does seem sus, but you never know i guess it COULD happen. i still have a Model 3 "reservation" that i requested to be cancelled and i did get my deposit back but its been stuck in my account for 7 years now and no one at tesla knows how to remove it. so i believe some of what he says.
After wating 4 years that would be super frustrating if it was the case

This is a long story, I transfered my model 3 order to my neighbor in 2018. Then in 2019, I ordered a cybertruck. In 2022, my email account suddenly became unable to log in, and my cybertruck order appeared in my neighbor's account. In 2023, I re-registered a Tesla account using my email address because I purchased a used model s. I called Tesla customer service and sent emails hoping to transfer my cybertruck order back to my account, but Tesla did not transfer it back to me. When the cybertruck foundation opened, my neighbor helped me configure the vehicle with his account and registered it under my name. I got the vin number 1 week ago, and the ending number is 0520. I am very happy . I paid in full with my company check and registered with my insurance . The TESLA reservation department also confirmed that I would pick up the car on March 8, but when I arrived at Tesla, they canceled the pick-up and said that the vin number had been given to someone else. I was very angry and argued with them, and their sales manager Brain said he can do nothing. I lost my CYBERTRUCK.
I know it is kind of unfair but from Tesla point, technically you neighbor actually "sold" his reservation to you.

So it sounds to me as if you scalped your Model 3 and are just now getting caught.

And no, there was no clause then, but yes, your neighbor moved ahead of many. Same reason why Tesla implemented the clause.

When I arrived at Tesla, the vin was gone and the reservation information was gone.

Maybe the local delivery center put together the pieces at the last moment, and realized past behaviour might indicate something fishy.

When I listened to the VIN guy on that youtube, and he said some of his best customers and many Tesla owners flipped cars during covid etc. Kind of pissed me off. I am a ten year owner of almost everything I own. So well deserved. Good detective work.

My neighbor and I are very good friends, this was not a resale, I just transferred my model 3 order to him in 2018 and Tesla mixed our accounts together.

Seems like this would be the first case of enforcement, odd going after a guy handing it to the guy next door vs a public auction?

Professional for sure. The story has merits, but Tesla is under no obligation to sell a car to anyone from stories like these over the last 10 years. Yet I don't think they can discriminate on certain things. So they can just say nope, have a nice day. There are many stories like this on other Tesla forums.

One of you agreed to the terms of ordering. From that you are bound. Suggest you read it again. Who took delivery doesn't matter. Yet it does.

So your neighbor configured a CT order on his account under your name. Sounds like not Tesla's fault.

This is very unfair to me. Brain saw the documents I brought to prove that my cybertruck belongs to me, and he also admitted that there was an error in the Tesla account. But I missed my cybertruck. I need to get back in line and if I want to quit I will lose my 1100 deposit. I was so angry but there was nothing I could do.

Getting back in line as a new reservation?
That will be like 8 years, think they are up to like 2.5 million reservations.
