The contrast between the amazing job the painter did (with high precision and attention to detail), and the haphazard panel gaps/misalignments of the CT is kinda embarrassing for Tesla. I hope they tighten these lines up by the time they finish the Foundation Series

Where are you seeing a "panel gap"?

Is this rebranded Plastidip or a different product?

The top of the tailgate alignment looks pretty bad to me.
By what standards? It's maybe a mil off?

I'm not understanding why people think a multi-ton machine is supposed to be flawless lol.

We have different standards then, which is fine, but it's clearly not even close to square lol. I don't expect it to be flawless.

I think the vehicle looks good. The concept certainly sparks one’s imagination but dipped, painted, or wrapped is not for me. Considering the reality of smudges and fingerprints, I prefer to keep it naked stainless.

Have you seen one in person? It's nearly impossible to judge "squareness" from the distortion of the camera lense.

And not all parts are going to be square, since the tailgate and rear quarter meet at a bevel.

Does not look much like a Ferrari red paint job. Look matte to me.

I mean I own a Cybertruck and I can tell you nearly every body panel is off. One side of my tail gate is terrible and the drivers door is off by at least a quarter inch. Elon is on record saying the team needs to strive for "sub-10 micron precision" for the Cybertruck, there's no need to defend poor fitment.

Are you on a tiny phone? Here's all the things I spotted right away. I don't expect perfection, but I hope they keep striving towards it.

And to counter what you said about a multi-ton machine: I bet spaceX has a LOT better precision than this. I've worked in aerospace and seen large things done right.

If it doesn't bug you, awesome! If you are looking for places where there's misalignments, I've taken the time to make the image below. If you're just trying to convince everyone else that they're seeing things, for whatever reason, then "OK buddy, you're right".

No, I viewed the photo on a 42" 4K OLED lol. Those gaps and alignments are well within spec. This isn't rocket construction, it's mass market assembly. Perfection is not in the cards.

That quote is a lofty goal for an end state of manufacturing. Early adopters are expected to deal with a few quality issues. Do you have a picture of the panel that is off by 1/4 inch?
