Typically I like being an early adopter, but with significant driving around town and other states for club basketball and volleyball competitions, I'm fine sitting this one out ......... for the next 30 days :) I can only imagine breaking down driving through the desert with my wife and two kids. I'm pretty sure at least 20 horror movies have started this way!
Myself as well. I've always been on the "Bleeding Edge" and don't mind the issues as much, but, a $100k vehicle is a bit more investment than smartphones, computers, cameras and drones. I do appreciate the replies and it helps me to understand that others are still waiting as well. I just don't think I'm going to be riding in my CyberTruck before the end of March as promised at order.

Dec 26 order AWD for NM “Jan-Mar estimated delivery"
No VIN as of 3/18 (that’s 89 days ago)
Not in a rush but I really do need it by May for a planned trip mid-May.

Does Virginia have Tesla stores? I feel like I'm going to be iced out because Alabama does not allow for direct to consumer automobile sales. I know your feeling frustrated as well.
where I live (Northern VA) there are 3 service centers within 35 miles of each other. I am not sure if I can call them 'stores', because I believe they are not allowed to transact vehicle sales, but all are full scale service centers that are capable of handling vehicle delivery.

Like you said, Alabama is different that you can't even take delivery of the Tesla vehicle that you ordered online, and you had to pick it up in neighboring states. My guess is that explains why it's taking forever for you to get a VIN. As for Virginia, I have zero clue why.

Even weirder, my pickup was originally in Alpharetta, Georgia. Then, a couple weeks after the order, delivery changed to Brandon, Mississippi. There is only one Tesla service center in Mississippi because after it was established, the Mississippi legislature passed a "Car Dealership" law like Alabama's. My apologies on the Tesla "store", I didn't know exactly what to call it. I test drove a Model X in Atlanta right after the CyberTruck was introduced and the staff explained it was a "store" that you could view and test drive the cars, but, the sales were all on-line direct from Tesla to customer. The proper terminology is "service center." Thank you for educating me.

Good luck! We are very close in our order date. Seems like New Mexico delivery would trump a CyberTruck to Mississippi?

12/8 Cyberbeast Order (8:30 p.m. PST) in SoCal RN#11279XXXX with an estimated delivery timeframe of "Early 2024". I'm still without a VIN and that's perfectly fine with me. The number of software/hardware related bugs makes me think that each day without a VIN is another day they are addressing and correcting issues.
Ditto - but in Texas.
I’m fine with others helping to “iron out” the bugs of first model year.

Good luck. We have very close order dates. If Tesla meets the promised delivery at order for us, then, it's got to be a VIN number in the next week to even be possible.

I'm curious how many here ordered in December 2023 and still don't have a VIN number? When did you order?

I ordered on 12/28.

What state do you live in?

I live in Alabama. No Tesla stores here. PickUp is Brandon, Mississippi.

How many days since order with no VIN number?

I am now at 81 days with only 12 days left in the month of March for delivery.
Ordered 12/29/23 so now officially 81 days as I write this. AWD FS with delivery Jan-March in Charlotte, NC

I have read about deliveries to North Carolina. So, maybe your close now. I haven't read of any deliveries to Mississippi or Alabama owners getting theirs. Closest was Tennessee delivery last week and some Georgia deliveries.

Thanks BengalBoy. My only hope is that the local service center is averaging about 8 days from VIN to delivery. So it is still possible. One CT they delivered in 3 days from issue of VIN.
