I don't agree with a lot of what is said here. But I think it's safe to say that all these tricks to get the wealthier customers to the front of the line and people who placed FS orders last year being skipped over for people who just placed is starting to wear on everyone.

What are your thoughts?
So, what is a waiter to do?
You are right. The worst is NO communication!
I am two weeks behind you. In VA and zero in VA so far.

When did you place your original reservation? I'm sure the earlier you got in the line, the more all these things impact you.

I personally die a little inside Everytime someone who placed their res after me gets their truck before me.

But a business gonna business
That’s what I mean, I placed my order years after, so I get it that it frustrates first day people. But those few are blips.. celebrity privilege? Sure. But guess who never pays for meals or gets things comped… celebrities. Is what it is.. so I don’t get too worked up over it. But ??. My experience isn’t others so, no judgement

If it was just celebs I'd be 100% on board. Because that's just the name of the game. It's moved way beyond that though.

I’m not in a rush to get a version of the truck that isn’t fully loaded, batteries aren’t maximized, and costs 20k more… so my feelings aren’t hurt. If they were, I could choose not to buy it and get a rivian, or lightning! I hear they are on sale

I had a neighbor who had a brand new Ford 250 on order for 9 months… it took them so long, he bailed. Ok
This forum is a great place to vent. But what are the realistic options? Write Elon that you are pissed? A lot of people are in line ready for you to bail and will deal with these “unfair line skipping practices” if it gets them closer. You could bail, but we know you won’t do that. I dont think Tesla sits in their high up offices thinking how they can screw “the loyal little guys”. Could they communicate better? Sure. But if they communicate too much, they can create unreal expectations. At least we know, trucks are taking a while to get all over the country.. the best advertising they can do is have famous people with 5-10 million followers posting to their socials. The reach and brand equity is huge. So if they get theirs, cool.
Ya it takes time to get Teslas sometimes. Shoot not more than 18 months ago, getting a model Y was 6 months after ordering. Tesla has their process, and their process is dealing with a brand new techy truck. Wanting to be “first mover” of getting one has its perks, but have to take the drawbacks that come ??

Enough of my word vomit on this thread. I have little to add

I think if celebs and influencers can skip the line then regular folks should be able to sell and transfer orders or flip the truck. Obviously tesla wants to have their cake and eat it too. Regardless life is not fair so try to bend the system to your advantage. Live long and prosper.

I don't trust the Fast Lane guys to be unbiased, they seem like fake EV enthusiasts because so much of what they say sounds like they are trying to appear to be EV enthusiasts while subtly trying to turn people away from EVs and make them think an EV might not a good fit for them. Or at least trying to get them to buy a GM EV at a high price.

That's a fair assessment. I've felt the same at times

“Those wealthy aholes jumped the line at Disney with their pass. Shake my fist in the air!” Are there any adults left ? Or even someone who isn’t self centered and think everyone should cater to them ? Time to grow up. We don’t live in that world. Yes money gets you ahead most places in life. And businesses that are (currently) losing money on each CT sold will try to sell fully loaded packages to manage their bleed. It’s not a conspiracy. Sorry your flower feelings got hurt.

Ps: these same people eventually get the car and then bitch it’s incomplete. Jeez. No one is twisting your arm. If you want a cheap / complete car wait or go some where else. Toyota probably. It’s all good. Just grow up please.
I Ordered within 2 hours of the unveil.
RN 1128..... I Can't handle 100K+ vehicle payments. I am just hanging in there in whatever line I am in and keep on enjoying (Loving) my Model Y AWD.
Not stressing. L is G and L is short.

These guys are whiners and are upset b/c others beating them to videos on social media. They are not really CT fans, even stating ‘not sure if it is a truck.’ Tesla should not prioritize their order and hope they cancel.

I put down my $100 a couple of days after the reveal of the CT in 2019, so I don’t expect mine it till early to mid of 2025, which is fine since I have a fairly new car I’m driving around. However, TFL is correct. They placed the order on the day of, they got invite to configure the CT and placed $1K order deposit, so they should be getting it before people who live in CA, TX, celebrities and socialites who didn’t do what they did. I get it though. These socialites and celebrities are free advertising for Tesla. However, it’s been roughly 5 months already since the release it’s time for Tesla to deliver the CT in order and it shouldn’t matter where it needs to be delivered.

?. You reap what you sow. What do people think they are going to do when they get the truck ? Sensationalize that

- it’s not complete
- it doesn’t match Silverado on some number
- it’s for celebrities only not a wor truck
- it doesn’t rock crawl like a jeep with 41s
- it’s not bullet proof cause a howitzer will go through it
- the headlights don’t work if caked in mud
- Elon bad and bait and switched them

Everyday that goes by and they don’t get to make money off the CT while others put out their reviews is a sweet day.

So are you saying that you don't think the way Tesla is handling the roll out is wonky?
Just because you don't understand it, doesn't make it "wonky"

It's actually pretty straight forward. It's just that we are in a period of extremely low availability with extremely high demand. Add to that the need to please employees and get a little free advertising. And then support the folks in the "home" states of CA and TX.
From there, get states ready and then start pushing the vehicles out.

But for those given a Jan-Mar deliver, but assuming their car would be delivered on Jan 1, well, welcome to reality.

I uderstand it plenty. That doesn't make it not wonky.

They're prioritizing minimal losses and highest return. Such is business.

Maybe you don't understand wonky? it's A.) not traditional and B.) throwing some customers under the bus.

A company with less cult following wouldn't be able to get away with it. So kudos to Tesla for making a super loyal fan base. Still wonky.

And with tfl and most of CO as examples, their orders also said Jan-Mar and it's now April and Co is just starting. In the meantime Tesla came up with multiple ways to get other people to the front of the line. Maybe if that didn't happen, co would've been on time
