That’s right, STEK has one of the best warranties in the business for color PPF.

Tesla uses 3M for their in-house wraps.

  • Clear Protection Film**: 10 years
  • Color Paint Film**: 5 years
**Only available in the United States. Excludes defects in workmanship (installation), which has a warranty of 12 months or 12,500 miles (20,000 km), whichever comes first.

All in all, pretty good warranty too. I shopped around. Other places were similar or cheaper in price, but only offered 2-3 year warranties.
Dang, you should have called Alset Auto. We did a Stealth Black last week. 10 year film warranty and lifetime installation warranty. But it's $7k.

Ok you are not making the should I or shouldn’t I wrap question any easier. I live in Vista so we are close. Maybe we can meet and I can see a little closer. Ever since I saw one satin black at the UTC store I have needed a drooling towel.

Thanks for sharing.

Incorrect. The PPF Tesla uses is in fact by 3M. Go to the service center and ask to see the box that the PPF comes in: it is 3M.

Just got my Cybertruck back from Tesla Oceanside Collision Center and they did an amazing job!! They also have the Foundation Series template so they can add that badging back to the CT after wrapping it.

I’m certainly no expert, but from what my I stalker is telling me, and from what I’ve read, it appears 3M only makes true PPF (self-healing) in clear applications. And the color options they have are vinyl. Are you saying that when Tesla uses 3m, they use 3m vinyl and then cover with 3M Clear PPF?

Rob4Aub, would you mind posting a pic of your CT unwashed? I've had black cars before, looks dirty quick. Hoping the satin black finish is less maintenance.

Perfect timing. I was about to wash it tomorrow.
pics are just now. This is after three weeks. Two trips to the beach with the dog. Two road trips to LA and back to SD. Normal driving every day. And a sprinkler on the drivers side one evening. Lol

From a distance, you really can’t tell. When you get close you can see the spots. But you can easily wipe it down with Adam’s Polishes Waterless wash once a day or wait three weeks to a month to wash like me. It is a truck after all. lol
