Dallas Delivery Experience 4/22 - Heads up on Financing Checks in TX

The Dallas (Cedar Springs) location has some amazing people working there... super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. No pomp and circumstance, just straight to "I would like to have my truck please"

Some things I was not aware of ahead of delivery day.
- I received the delivery invite on 4/16 for a delivery on 4/22.
- Payment was split between cash and Financing.
- Confirmation SMS indicated that my location does not accept payments and any financing checks must be mailed to the Tesla center in California, with Tesla's confirmation of receipt prior to delivery. What?, a little more heads up would have been helpful.
- The following day I had to rush to find a credit union branch, then to FedEx to overnight the check.
- I was sweating it through Saturday afternoon, until I received a follow up message in the App indicating they received payment.

Did you get to inspect it well before you accepted it? And, if there were any issues, did they correct them or record them prior to accepting?

I pick up in Plano on Friday, where I have accepted 2 other Teslas, both had issues they fixed while I waited.

Hmm, that's strange. I assumed all delivery locations, except those on native/tribal land, accepted payments. Glad you got it sorted though.

Tesla circumvents the Texas franchise laws by processing the transaction in California. I paid the bulk with a finance check from my CU overnighted to CA, and paid the balance in the app using Plaid.

I also needed to get insurance several days before delivery so that Tesla could submit the registration on my behalf.

If your CU will do it, try to get them to put the funds in your checking account or check to you and then put in your account. Then ACH it all to Tesla.

I'm just going with Tesla Finance.

I meant the finance option in the Tesla mobile app. Looks like Well Fargo is doing mine. If you use the mobile app it makes it streamlined.

And Tesla wants to incorporate in Texas, when they won't ever let them do proper business in the state because their legislative branch is full of auto dealers.
