Blueing or super hard coating options

I recall Elon asking about interest in some sort of super hard coating for the CT and discussions around heatinf the stainless to get a blueing effect. Anyone seen or hesrd updates on a tesla super durable coating or people blueing the stainless?

bluing will ruin the temper of the steel, and would be incredibly difficult to get a homogenous color across all of the various panels of different thicknesses on the truck.

As far as other coatings? probably possible to do something like a DLC coating, if you were willing to completely disassemble the entire truck, and found a place that could do parts that big. Most parts that get coatings like that are incredibly small (like endmills that are less than 6" long and 1" diameter), so I imagine it would be difficult to find someone who could fit a door or the rear quarter panel.

Would be far easier to wrap it in a semi gloss blue color (I bet you could find it in translucent if you wanted to see the grain of the steel).
