Brought my CT in for it’s first service. I am having the winter tire package installed, and the wheel covers.

Service manager was sad I did not bring my key card.
I never use mine. So didn’t think to bring it. I use my phone and watch.

Bottom line, at least at Spokane, they would prefer you bring your key card.

Palo Alto SC doesn't care for them either. I asked a couple times ago and they said they prefer I didn't bring it (as they often lose track of them). They just use the app after its in service mode to drive it around different areas of the shop.

the gentlemen two places in line in front of me was waiting for the technician to find his key fob for quite some time.

Never asked for mine either.

All they ask is to remove the PIN in case I put one on mine.

So after reading the replies, this sounds like a Spokane thing.
My SC has the same request. They said it's just easier for them than logging in the system, pairing, then getting approval. They said if the system is slow it can take 5-10 min to take the car and the same amount of time to transfer it back. It's a small service center and they typically get to working right when you drop off. They said larger centers like Charlotte have so many cars, it doesn't delay the process because people are waiting anyway.

Yeah sorry that’s not my experience. In the early days I would always bring my card and they never need or want it. Also, mobile service doesn’t need it or want it either.

OK, probably a stupid question, but I always keep keep my key card in my wallet in case I leave or lose my phone somewhere? Does this interact (create issues) when both (phone and card) are in car at same time? Thanks. Please go easy on me. Only had CT one month. :)

No, this is exactly what you’re supposed to do. Your phone uses Bluetooth. The key card uses RFID. The card has to be placed in close proximity to the reader on the B panel or in the appropriate place inside the vehicle in order for the card to be read. They don’t interfere; keep doing what you’re doing.

Have you tested your keycard for unlocking the door? A few of us have issues with the card working when driving, but it won't unlock at the doorpost. Maybe he was trying to fix a "known" issue while you were there.
