The light doesn't turn on when plugged in.
I’m curious if the light bar controls show up on your screen?
I had to connect the light bar wiring behind the passenger B pillar (some CA law or regulation or other such nonsense) and it did show up on my screen and does function. Before connecting the wire, the CT did not recognize the lightbar.

That’s a huge bummer. Good luck, my friend. I’m hoping it’s something simple. One more possible idea… I first connected my wires without pushing in the red slider (part of the connector). It didn’t work and I was discouraged about the whole process. I then tried again and did push in the red slider and voila! It worked! Could this be it? The red slider part was hidden beneath the black tape.

No the light bar doesn't function or turn on when wired in.
What service center in NJ? I’m dropping mine off on Friday in Springfield. Did you test it before leaving?

Don't schedule a service appointment if you haven't gotten the email.
It won't work and you will be wasting your time and the SC time.
I'm sure that there are a few who got lucky and this worked.
but most will not get it this way
I was one who tried. and it failed there is no magic formula or words.
the SC has too much to handle already
we don't need to make appointments to hope we get lucky.
this is what happens for letting us schedule our own appointments
and not have a single appointed service center handler for each client with enough
authority to get things done and knowledge with confidence
to tell you what they can do and won't do.
also, accountability to keep promises.
