Yes, it was weird to have my contract terminated by the GM of the Distribution Center (xxxxxxx) here in Aurora Colorado without cause since I had the Cashers Check in hand for more than the amount I owed on the Truck. Her excuse that it takes 3 to 7 days for a wire transfer to be in their bank and that is not right as well.

I have called their customer service number and only got a recording to leave a message before my deliver date (I did so) and texted through their app and emailed them to their email for problems dept. To date the only one that I was able to talk to or get any reply was the GM other than a form letter with them asking me to contact another department that will not answer me other than a form letter that gets me back to the roundabout I have been in since the end of Nov. 2024.

It looks like Tesla is maybe good at technology but Very very poor on customer service.

I can talk to the IRS and get answers from people that can make hard decisions on problems better than Tesla.

So if any of you know of a contact person that is higher up than a GM of the Distribution Center, please let me know. I have even texted/ emailed Elon Musk on X / Twiter for an answer and again NO RESPONCE.

Thanks Everyone

One Last thing this whole problem makes me feel if I have to fight this hard to be able to buy one of their products Just how hard will I have to work to get them to honor their Warranties. This was my first time trying to buy any electric vehicle.

NOT A GOOD START!!!! LOL
I would remove the name of the person who works at the physical location from your post. From your post I can tell communication, both ways, is a challenge. Start with a cashiers check for the correct amount. You really should be able to handle the full transaction through the app. Perhaps start over, communicate your method of payments upfront, and have it ready when needed. Making changes during the purchase process only complicates things.

I think it's pretty clear by now OP doesn't want a solution, he wants validation.

No one is providing an escalation path, because there isn't one. Tesla is very decentralized and AFAIK there is nowhere to escalate to, other than to Tweet at Elon and pray.

I trusted that they would credit me back at some time the difference or I could use it up in other options.
Ah, I found the core of the issue here. You brought them the wrong amount, they said they couldn't process that, and somehow you want to go over their head.

I am over 70 years old, and this was going to be my first electric vehicle.
Not sure what your age has to do with this. You are choosing not to move forward with the purchase on your own volition. I bet Tesla will still sell you a vehicle if you meet the terms of the agreement you signed (or will sign).

To all:

Everyone has focused on this Cashers Check that it could be bad! Yes, it could be fraudulent in any case.

Tesla still has the advantage in that they can shut off the vehicles power anywhere it is NO matter where you are for any kind of nonpayment issue. So, their risk of not getting paid is very little. You would just have a brick, and the police would have your location.

So, someone that would use a fake casher check would be also pretty stupid, they would even have you and anyone else on camera inside or outside auto.

My issue is that if ANY SELLER can change their purchase agreement any time and not honor their past contracts that are still active, then ANY SELLER can change their Warranties since that is also a form of a contract. Warranties are what Sellers (sometimes) use to stimulate Buyer/s to buy their product or service.

And for those of you that have not run into any problems with anything relating to Purchase, to Warranty Service, maybe it is only because you have worked with good representatives of the Company. NOT ALL REPRESENTATIVES are GOOD.

When a REP. of a company does not let the customer take their issues to a higher authority. then there is a problem. I have got NO answers or call backs from all the emails, texts and phone calls to any of Tesla Customer Service Departments.

I was only hopping that someone out there knows someone or has contact info on someone in the company that is higher up so I could show them all the information I have and get a resolution of this issue. The problem maybe just a bad GM and the company needs to know.

This will be the Last Time I respond to any comments. If you have any information on who I could contact, I would be Appreciative of that information.

Thanks To All
i dont think anyone would put their contact information out there for you like that.

you may have to go in person.

nothing changed about your MVPA. The issue is clearly that you tried to pay by a check for more than the remaining balance. fix that and your problem is solved.

I wouldn't worry too much about the privacy of high level employees. Most people proudly advertise what they do for a living on LinkedIn. Oversharing is a modern American mental illness.

Sir, I believe you know this is TMI!! In fact, if I didn’t know better, I would think you might be over-sharing, specifically, for comedic purposes!

OP, I understand that you are trying to stick to your guns, but in the time and effort you took to follow up on all these responses, you could have voided the check, cancelled the order, placed new order, wired the money, and got your CT delivered. It literally takes less than one hour to do all these! It takes 15 mins to call your bank and wire the money. 5 mins to void the check. 2 mins to cancel and place new order. Inspecting the vehicle and driving it home would probably take two more hours. You can drive home the best vehicle ever in under three hours. This is my first time buying a Tesla. I’m super impressed with their hassle free buying process.

Any seller or service provider reserves all rights to deny their services to anybody. If you are trying to prove you are right and Tesla was wrong, then probably you might prove it eventually, but what would you get out of it? It’s a waste of time and brain cycles. Tesla can even deny to sell you any of their vehicles.

We can stop the deification. I think Carmax already had this perfected years before Tesla sold its first car. If you hadn’t had occasion to buy from them that’s just a hole in your knowledge base.

Other than adding a direct consumer model for cars, no points for copying something already done well. No haggle, no price negotiations, no sales pressure. Highly structured, nearly automatic process? Simpsons (Carmax) did it! 1993.

Sorry.

That’s a natural progression; not a revolution. Nobody had an app in 1993.

Without even knowing or looking - for sure I guarantee you hundred percent that you can do that through CarMax today. Wanna bet?

So you're saying Tesla had it first.
