Use caution when removing Cyber wheel covers in cold weather! Mounting ring clips may break

I finally received my Cyber wheel covers on 1-17-25 for my FSCB. Recently I removed one to top off the psi. The mounting ring came off with the outer cover and one of the seven mounting ring clips broke in the process. Bummer!

That sucks, I took my covers off the other day, it was about 34 degrees. But I didnt have any issue with the mounts coming off. Will Tesla replace for free?

I discovered a few broken clips on mine when airing up the tires (was cold, maybe in the 20s). Opened a ticket with Tesla. Mobile service replaced the wheel covers for free. ...my truck was only a week old at the time.

Had the same happen to me in 20° weather in PA last month.
It happen when trying to separate the ring prior to reinstalling after topping off psi as well, happened on right rear wheel.

Although could easily happen on any as the tab OP shows that snaps off is under high stress against the wheel cover portion when trying to unsnap going around in a circular direction.
Put in for a service replacement but we’re unable to provide one from service as of this time and in the meantime from same service appointment had my light bar installed as a follow up scheduled appointment.

Picked mine up at service yesterday. They didn't install b/c I have my winter tire wheel set on. Service manager recommended spraying with WD40 before installing he said spray the mounting ring (I'm assuming the part in this post) on both sides with a thin coat of to better facilitate removal
