Okay, here's my estimate... hehe...

I pick.... $9400... Based on it looks like it's just the two doors 'damaged' and the airbags and such of course... Yeah, I think under $10K for sure... Didn't even take out the mirror, glass etc...

Of course I have to wonder why it's on a tow truck... Now if it doesn't DRIVE for some reason (due to damage) then that's a whole nutter can-o-worms...
It wouldnt drive but I assume that’s because when the airbags blew that triggers the pyro fuse to blow as well and by my own guesstimation I’m gonna say it’s going to 28k in damage all in and they will not total it.

My Tesla Model Y was rear ended with minimal visible damage to hatchback and bumper but the bill was about $8600 at Tesla Collision. My guess for that CT is $16,500, assuming no damage to frame. At least no cost for repainting! I would suspect she got hit at somewhere between 22-28mph, but no way 40.

So to start out my wife was fine… no injury’s at all. It was snowing pretty good this morning and she slid thru a stoplight and got T Boned by another pickup doing about 40mph… Truck took it like a champion! Any guesses on repair estimates? Think it’s totaled?

If its totaled, and you have room at your place, that thing holds over 9 Tesla Powerwall's. If you can buy it back for $20K, use it as whole house backup!

I assume the slippery road surface helped to reduce the damage, 40mph!

Glad your wife is okay and the truck looks like it might just need those two panels, the front seats, and the airbags replaced. Seeing these things handle real world crash tests makes me want one all the more (not for crashing purposes obviously)

This helps confirm that the Cybertruck is the safest truck for passengers. It's a relief to read your wife is ok and walked away from this collision.

Glad she's okay. I'd grab the wheel covers and any other accessories that are removable. Those kinds of things tend to 'disappear' in body shop parking lots.

Some questions. Does the CT have all season or winter tires on? Is braking distance really that bad in winter conditions?

Was the CT driveable after the collision? Or does it automatically get disabled after airbags go off? Or is there a limp mode?

Looks completely driveable, especially if the other truck was able to drive away. Would be terrible if you were just stuck in the middle of a busy highway or in the middle of nowhere.

Our Cybertruck AWD had all terrain tires on it with about 50% wear maybe a little more 15k miles. Braking distance is a factor of physics and speeds and road conditions were a factor.

It would have been drivable if it had power and I do not know for sure but I think when the airbags blow they blow the pyro fuse to the high voltage pack.

Yea definetly feel like we could have driven it to the body shop but without power we were out of luck.

*update … it has been towed to the body shop and is awaiting tear down and damage appraisal.. I really hope it’s totalled after having some time to process it. It’s never going to be the same the severity of the crash is going to drastically effect future resale.. I will lose about 20k in equity but I knew that was going to happen when I bought it.

Is that the deployed center airbag? It looks like it came out of the driver's right side bolster wing? If that's the case, y'all that have front seat covers had better check to see if they have the necessary accommodation for this center airbag being deployed from there because as far as I know, my seat cover is compliant only with the side impact airbag, no mentioning of the center airbag at all. Anyone sees it differently? Please chime in. This would be a big safety issues for drivers that have seat covers.

Yeah, I was corrected earlier: there are airbags in the seats to keep the passengers from leaving their seats.

Pretty wild technology, ehh?
