Was thinking about this exact use case for surfboards! And 100% agree on the money grabbing ?transportation of delicate goods. It'd be sick for not scratching up a surfboard.
Can't say I see the value proposition, but the same is true for most Tesla branded accessories. They seem like a money grab lol.
Yea, this is for using the vault like an SUV back storage. A "truck" bed would pretty much never have a cloth mat, unless it was for camping, and due to the rear window unfortunately not rolling down camping in the vault is out without significant sacrifices.Textile? To each their own I guess.
People who carry around an assortment of canvas bags like medic kits, climbing gear, etc.I don’t understand the appeal of this product offering.
The cargo divider has a feature to allow use with most any bed mat. Both sides of the divider’s bottom bar have two-piece rubber feet, each held on by two screws and washers. The washers are important and easy to miss because they stay in and must be dug out of the bottom rubber section and reinstalled on the crews. You remove the feet and take off the bottom layer, which is removable for this purpose. After taking off the bottom layer of the “feet”, put back the upper layer, reinstall the screws and washers, and you gain 1/4” of clearance for the mat. Tesla thought of everything.wish they specified if this will work with the cargo divider. tried to use 3rd party with the divider and it was too tight would make it jam in.
hoping this is the perfect amount of clearance.

Did you remove the rubber foot on the divider? You have two choices - removing one layer gives a quarter inch added space, and removing the foot entirely would be over 1/2 inch. There’s no mat that would impair that.Tried this with almost any other mat and while it will technically fit it’s so snug that I almost have to force the divider out.
Haven’t seen one thin enough to really work with it smoothly.
I’ll double check but pretty sure I removed the entire rubber pad.Did you remove the rubber foot on the divider? You have two choices - removing one layer gives a quarter inch added space, and removing the foot entirely would be over 1/2 inch. There’s no mat that would impair that.
Based on comments above, I may have a newer version of the divider, with two options for making more space for a mat. I ordered my divider two weeks ago and my truck was delivered last week, so everything is probably at a next level of Tesla engineering compared to stuff from a year ago.I’ll double check but pretty sure I removed the entire rubber pad.
