I agree - there should be some reward for contributing FSD data. Discount / credit for sharing various levels of detail; some reward for leaving a voice note when disconnecting. Maybe free as long as you contribute at least 2x per month?
I have been a beta tester for FSD for 5 years now, it is getting better, but should would be nice if they delivered the final product right about now.

I'm just waiting to see what happens. Not getting my hopes up at all.

If private owners Model Ys are driving around unsupervised then I might trade my 22 Y in for a new one. We will see.

I’m thinking he’s not mentioning CyberTruck at all to distance himself from it, he is aware of the hate, keeping it ā€œout of his mouthā€ is best.

I left a voice note today. I said if you were to give me a free trial or longer free. Driving, I would give you more information on why I interrupted

guys, I've reported this multiple times on this forum, but once again:

The FSD model for the Cybertruck is still being emulated. It is not native yet; and still needs millions more miles to reach maturity.

I contribute at least 2 times a day, usually 5 or more. Maybe they don't like some of the working of the contributions but, in the moment, that's what it is.

Reported today in ā€œNot A Tesla Appā€

  • Vast majority of Tesla’s existing fleet will be capable of Unsupervised FSD
    • Elon specifically mentioned the Model S, 3, X, and Y
    • This is the fourth event (We, Robot, Q4 Earnings 2024, All-Hands, and Q1 Earnings 2025) without mention of the Cybertruck being capable, likely meaning that FSD development for the Cybertruck is further behind as we’ve seen.
    • End qoute

    • Will Cybertruck’s FSD ever match other Tesla?
Unfortunately the CyberTruck is not ready for unsupervised self drive. I take over all the time. It about drove into the oncoming turn lane just last Sunday, and it loves to speed. I do hope they make the necessary improvements soon, but it's not ready to go unsupervised quite yet.

I think your point is valid, but it looks to me as if not as much effort is devoted to finishing development of the Cybertruck’s software, irregardless if those functional aspects are dependent on road miles or not. The Cybertruck hasn’t turned out to be anything close to the huge seller it was expected to be and as a consequence Tesla’s focus is now elsewhere.

Just a reminder from last Fall's earnings call about whether HW3 would achieve unsupervised FSD. Have not heard anything since.

Drove 468 miles yesterday (thunderstorm rains, fog and late night) with only usual reasons for taking over. Drove around Tuscaloosa and despite no change in FSD version it drove 2x better there this time. Like most FSD folks here, I take over for parking lots , school zones, and active emergency vehicles- otherwise Clement drives me everywhere. Yes- I’ve had about 3 definitely unsafe take overs on 13.2.8 in ~4,000 miles of FSD. None were near misses but all were WTH moments. Compared to any other autopilot- this is years ahead.

I have to say- we need more rapid cycle updates though. Perhaps they are doing that internally with employees but man- for cutting edge technology, this is a very slow deployment cycle.

FSD for the truck is much more a function of miles fed into Dojo than anything else. Also, I think Telsa expected sales to be a bit weak to start with. This truck is a complete paradigm shift.

Must definitely didn't hesitate to say there was a chance it doesn't become super popular. I think the CT has already broken the old guard though; I have encountered hundreds of people, and the vast majority are super impressed; it's just out of their price range.

These trucks will fly off the shelf when Tesla can cut costs enough.

It always has been, and will be going forward. Telsa has to be *extremely* careful with FSD. Even one incident where FSD is actually at fault could cause the whole fleet to be grounded, and we lose tons of progress. Even if FSD has already been proved to be magnitudes safer than human drivers.

Just the nature of public perception. I'd actually say this program is the most high profile in software development history.

He went further than that, he specifically said there was a potential it would flop and that he didn’t care if it did.

He was just happy and determined to get it made and I’m glad that he did.

I just don’t think price is going to turn out to be as big of a limiting factor as optimists want to believe. I think it was in the beginning, but reputation and perception have taken over.

meh, Tesla is doing exceptionally well against the international FUD campaign being launched against it. I think many people don't realize how much of a threat Tesla is to several multi-trillion dollar (combined) industries. Their reputation will stay strong, especially when the robotaxi enables the elderly and disabled complete freedom of travel.

I'm actually shocked that there haven't been more assassination attempts on Musk, tbh

I’m not talking about Elon or Tesla; I’m talking about the Cybertruck specifically.
