Hi guys my name is John and i am new to the forum. I have an order placed from April 17th 2025 for a CB and the truck should be here soon. I need your guys imput please on the CB vs AWD as i can't really find to much info on which is better for daily driving. Let me put it this way when i placed my order i was really interested in the Free supercharging as i commute about 200 miles every other day for work some highway driving and city driving (i am involed in restate development / construction) Since i placed the order about a month ago the awd didn't have free supercharging but now it does the FS AWD and after reading a lot on here about the differences i am stuck now. Most of you are saying AWD is a better drive over the Beast. I come from a Ram TRX and that was my daily 41k miles in 1.4 years i drove it a lot. Engine went out at 38k miles (replaced under the warranty and sold the car right after) so i decided to go ev since my wife has the model y and i am liking it a lot. The discounts are great on CT right now the CB i ordered is 107k and I've been looking at AWD for $72000 with no incentives. Or should i just look at the FS AWD with all incentives. By the way i am also looking into the leasing option as i got some terrible financing rates of %10 percent. With that said let's not forget I'll be driving over the miles. Did my calculation I'll be at a $7500 in extra miles after 36 months. The money line question for me is if you guys are willing to give me your opinion is should i stick to the CB or AWD because its not enough to justify the differences. Also al most forgot to add my electrical panels are full capacity i am already charging a model y at home and going the CB route i will get that power wall with my order. What do you guys think and i want to thank you for reading my post God Bless.

Let me break it down for you this fine Saturday—because clearly, I have nothing better to do. One’s got three motors, the other’s got two. And surprise surprise: three motors means it hits 0-60 so fast it might question your life choices.

LOL thanks for that since I am here still reserching might as well tell you that while having the TRX i never did a lunch control and only daily driven it. Yes a pull here and there but that's it i have my m3 if i want to hit the track. What is like driving the CB daily is my main concern. Will it get ruined like what happened with the TRX or should i stick to the AWD and hopefully i won't feel bad for not getting the beast.

Well, even the AWD will be on par with the TRX

I came from a couple raptors and then a ford lightning and love the AWD with the base wheels/tires

that said if you have to have the fastest then go cyberbeast

Btw, FSD is really nice given that commute but given the miles that you will put on it might make sense to just subscribe as it won’t amount to much in resale down the road

also the all season pirellis are great and get good range and ride is excellent, love the base wheels too

in terms of supercharging, I don’t know that you will need it given the panels at home I would just charge at home most of the time, 200 miles should be easy even in the dead of winter I think.

I have a Beast-one hell of a truck if financing/lease doesn’t break you wallet go for it. If you are going to use it as a daily take into context the depreciation proposition. The Beast at the price point you mention will take the greatest hit with many miles (exceeding your lease requirements). Only you can decide what’s best for you.

If you need that speed go beast. After driving both iterations AWD had more than enough balls and cruise power for me.

Build reliability might be better with later vin, meaning non-FS. However free FS sounds enticing given your range. You have access to charging at your destination? I have a buddy that does similar work and has charging on site.

If you lease to own then miles don’t matter. I you’re not going own then that mileage overcharge will negate your low interest %

Let me keep this simple. You don’t need a Beast. The AWD has plenty of horsepower and speed and it rides better, costs less and is objectively more capable off-road because of front and rear mechanical lockers.

I say this as a FS/CB owner. It’s fantastic, but you don’t need all that quickness and you’re never gonna use it legally, or frankly- at all. It’s not a dragster and even though it’s quick 0 to 60, you’ll get smoked eventually in anything over a quarter mile by anything that’s roughly 0 to 60 in three seconds with a higher top speed - ANYTHING. You are hard limited at 130mph, you get there quick, and then there’s nothing you can do (but get spanked and take it like a man) after you inevitably max out. See any drag race video on YouTube.

Like all of them, my beast is front wheel drive biased in daily driving and it’s noticeable. AND there are times when the front axle will skip because of this. It hits hard, it’s jarring and it’s very unpleasant. I spent a day with an all-wheel-drive foundation series while my truck was in the shop and found it to be way more refined and compliant.

So, to sum this up: you do not need a CB. I don’t need one. And if I had to do it all over again I would still buy a CB, because I am flawed as a human being and need to be able to own the quickest baddest version available. It’s ridiculous! Don’t do it!

Ray Romano used to have a bit about how his mom would hassle him about getting a college degree because … well … he would be able to say that he was a “college graduate.” His response was well I can say it anyway! What’s gonna happen I’m gonna open my mouth to say it and only get out I’m a “kkasaalkkka gwohljsk?”

It’s fucking fantastic, but you don’t need it unless you’re simply looking for verifiable bragging rights.

*Besides this, the best advice I can give you is don’t listen to @CyberGus!

I kid, I kid!

I have a non FS AWD. I will do $300 in monthly supercharging as I will be driving a lot (30k in a year). And I pay $99 for FSD monthly. My financing is at 4.59%. If I went with a CB I’d get free supercharging and FSD but I’d pay ~$360/M more. Which means- it would be a better deal for me to get the CB over time, especially since the FSD cost will go up once it is full FSD.

If I had to do it again, I’d get the CB because of the above cost analysis. but… BUT I hear the CB is clunky as a daily driver. AWD is smooth as butter and has more pickup than any car I’ve owned before.

Both trucks are bitchin' The AWD has no problem beating most supercars, Cyber beast is next level and unless you really like buying tires then you will never need that much power not even for towing.

So I went with the AWD FS because I get dirty and like offroading while also having superior street performance and a little extra range than the beast.

The AWD has the permanent magnet in the rear whereas to beast has the magnet in the front. So if your a doomsday guy and want RWD in case of an emp or something than AWD, if you just want chaotic performance than beast. Either truck will tow about the same.

Never considered EMP in the equation. Groq agrees with your analysis:
“ Final Answer: The AWD Cybertruck may be marginally less vulnerable to EMP due to its simpler dual-motor setup with fewer electronic components. However, the Cyberbeast’s three-motor redundancy could allow it to retain partial functionality if some motors survive. For true EMP protection, consider vehicles with military-grade shielding or consult automotive engineers.”

Do you qualify for the tax credit? If so, it’s hard to justify $27,500 more for something essentially identical, with all the same capabilities (towing/payload/etc) that just goes a little faster.

That being said, I agree wholeheartedly with the following:
And if I had to do it all over again I would still buy a CB because I am flawed as a human being and need to be able to own the quickest baddest version available.

To anyone who ever had to choose between AWD vs Beast....it's not a matter of which is better....it's a matter of how much money you're willing to part with, period. Now quit asking stupid question, and look at your bank account.
